Durham Jordan 12 Heritage 1
PBR was on hand at Heritage HS on Monday night. The non-confernce game featured the Durham Jordan Falcons, having won 4 of their last 5 games, and the Heritage Huskies, who had won 2 of their last 3 to get back to .500 on the year.
Jordan scored 4 runs in the top of the first inning to grab an early lead. The inning started with a single sandwiched by two walks to load the bases with no outs. A one out single from Jack Mitchell would score Benton Jones and Miles Newsome. A ground out and a 2 out walk would move the Falcons to their 4-0 lead.
Heritage scored one run in the bottom of the first on a one out triple by Cole Quinlan, scoring Parker Cato. This would be all the damage that two Falcon pitchers would allow.
Carter Liverman started the game, picking up the win with 3 innings, allowing 3 hits, and striking out 1. Jack Brodeur would finish the 5 inning affair with 2 scoreless innings, striking out 1 as well.
Up 5-1 in the 5th, the Falcons would put the game away with a huge 7 run outburst. With one on and two outs, the Falcons would record three straight hits, including doubles from Brodeur and Andrew Davis. These hits were followed by two walks and then a single from Brandon Garcia. With the bases loaded, leading 9-1, Caiden Chilausky would clear the bases with a double to left.
With the win, Jordan moved to 15-5 on the year. The Falcons do not have any games scheduled per MaxPreps and will be prepping for their post-season. Heritage dropped to 9-10. The Huskies are scheduled to play Rolesville in a conference series on Thursday and Friday.
