Most Viewed in NC - No. 3 Brooks Brannon
Brooks Brannon may have had the best season in North Carolina High School history in 2022. His spring started with an invite to the PBR Super 60 in Chicago with approximately 60 of the top high school draft prospects in the country. Brannon held his own, opening some eyes with the power shown during BP and his energy and communication skills with the pitchers in attendance, during the bullpen sessions. Brannon followed that outing up with another high level workout at the PBR North Carolina ProCase in his home facility of Diamond Xtreme in Kernersville, NC. All of this was just a warm-up.
The Randleman HS leader finished his 2022 season with the following awards and accolades:
- 2022 2A NCHSAA State Champion
- 91 RBIs - NC State Record
- 20 HRs - NC State Record
- 70 Hits - NC State Record
- 2022 PBR North Carolina Player of the Year
- 2022 All-PBR 1st Team (All-American)
The success on the field was rewarded. A North Carolina commit, Brannon bypassed college, signing with the Boston Red Sox as a 9th round selection where he immediately turned heads with a big summer in the Florida Complex League.
