HS Scout Blog: Opening Day Features Loaded Lineups & Arms
March 2, 2020
PBR was on hand for the opening games of the 2020 season for two programs with state championship aspirations. In 2019, Charlotte Christian reached the pinnacle, winning the NCISAA 4A State Title. At the same time, Carmel Christian came within one day or hoisting the trophy, losing the NCISAA 3A State Championship series. Both clubs have talented rosters as we start 2020 and they opened against each other on Friday February 28th at Charlotte Christian.
Charlotte Christian enters the year as the No. 1 team in the PBR Power 25. Carmel Christian worked to counter Charlotte Christian’s lineup and depth on the mound with a couple of MLB Draft follows for the 2020 season.
Charlotte Christian did a good job throughout the day or working counts and staying patient eventually driving Carmel Christian 2020 RHP Cooper King out of the game. Three arms combined to limit Carmel Christian’s lineup giving Charlotte Christian the opening night win, 9-1. Below are some player notes from the opening day.
