Fuquay Big In Power 25 Matchup

Fuquay visited Garner in conference play on Tuesday night in a battle of teams inside the PBR Power 25.  Fuquay rolled Campbell commit Jackson Humphries onto the mound while it was Garner Magnet's Connor Chicoli's turn in the rotation for the start.  

After each club stranded runners in the 1st, the Bengal Tigers broke through in the top of the 2nd.  HL Smith double to left with 1 out, moving to 3B on a single from Andrew Schneider.  A walk to B Nabors loaded the bases.  A two-out walk to Bobby Osburn gave Fuquay the lead.  It was followed by an RBI Hit-by-Pitch from A Keller.

The two run lead was more than enough for Humphries as he only surrendered 1 hit and 3 walks over his 6 innings of work.  The big lefty punched 13 Trojan hitters on the night.

Up 4-0, Fuquay plated 5 runs in the 7th, paced by 5 singles.  They turned the 7th over Bobby Osburnto close it out.  He worked a scoreless 7th, giving up a walk and striking out 2.

Fuquay-Varina moves to 7-1, 3-0 in league.  Garner drops to 5-1, 2-1.  These two clubs will conclude their 2 game series this week on Friday.
