Day 4: Team Carolina vs. Team Mid-Atlantic
August 2, 2021
Team Carolina continued action on Friday and Saturday at the PBR Future Games. Set into the Southeast Pod, Team Carolina rolled out of the game vs. Team Florida to face Team Georgia on Friday and Team Mid-Atlantic on Saturday. An estimated 375 college coaches were inside the LakePoint Sports complex each day to see all the action. While there were some ups and downs for the Carolinas Team, there were players that shined in their moment in the spotlight. Game notes on players are below.
Game 3: Team Carolina vs. Team Mid-Atlantic
One of the highlights of the PBR Future Games is 4 straight days of action. For a lot of really good players, this allows them to show off their motor, their consistency, and their love for the game. A lot of players can “amp up” for a showcase day, but in the heat of Atlanta, it is hard to fake it for 4 days. Nick Parhm drew rave reviews from PBR Staff, Scouts, and College Coaches on hand because of his actions over the entirety of the Future Games.
Nick Parham (SS, T.C. Roberson HS (NC), 2023) - Nick has really opened eyes this week with his smooth defense and offensive ability. Today Nick had a great day with the bat, reaching base all 3 times. In at bat number 2 of the nick took a FB and grove it in the pull side gap for a double. On his third and final at bat of the game and weekend he smoked a 1B to RF. Ball always finds the right spot in the glove to go along with a strong arm. A very balanced approach at the plate with great plate awareness.
