Davie Completes Sweep of West Rowan on the Road

Game Recap:
The West Rowan Falcons hosted a home non conference game against undefeated Davie. The Wednesday affair completed a home and home series played this week. Davie swept the series, winning on Wednesday 4-0.
Junior LHP Spencer Nifong stiffled the West Rowan offense for 6 innings, only allowing 2 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 7. Nifong threw 92 pitches, 55 for strikes. In the 7th 2020 OF/RHP Anthony Azar finished up, working a quick inning with 2 strikeouts.
Davie got started early, in the 1st, with a lead off double by Azar, he went on to score on an Aaron Williams sacrifice fly to give the War Eagles the early 1-0 lead. In the top of the 4th inning, the War Eagles scored their second run on a bunt single by Michael Shelton, scoring Carson Whisenhunt who got on base via a 1 out walk.
Following back to back singles to start the 6th, the War Eagles score on ground ball double play extending their lead to 3. A run scored on a fielding error in the 7th sealed the War Eagles victory.
West Rowan starter Daniel Durham kept the Falcons within striking range for most of the game. Durham worked 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs and struck out 4.
