Heritage 3          Broughton 6

Game Recap:
The Broughton Capitals jumped out to an early lead in a non-conference matchup with the Heritage Huskies on Friday afternoon. Each team playing their 3rd game of the week relied on their depth on the mound and turned to their offense to provide a spark. The Capitals scored 4 in the first and added single runs in the 3rd and 4th to put the game away and win 6-3.

In the first, back to back one out singles from Joe Barrow and Robert Ramseur led to two runs. The singles were followed by an RBI double from starting pitcher Penn Sealey and hard hit ground ball from Daniel Brown, scored an error, that drove in the second run. Capitalizing on the error, Campbell Nixon grounded out scoring Sealey. Brown moved to third on a balk, and scored on a wild pitch.

The four run lead played big with Sealey on the bump for Broughton. The uncommitted senior righty worked three strong innings, allowing only 2 hits and two walks. Campbell Nixon threw a strong fourth inning, allowing Broughton to work to a 6-0 lead.

In the top of the 5th, Heritage would make a run. With one out and one runner on, Alex Imposimato singled to let, putting runners on the corners. Chris Katz doubled off the left-center field wall, scoring Whit Kane. Cam O'Brien then singled to center scoring Imposimato. Katz would come across as well on an errant throw, getting the Huskies to within 6-3, which would become the final.

Josh Holloman closed the game for the Caps, earning a save in two innings of work, striking out three.
