Aces Pitch Randleman Past East Forsyth

Game Recap:
Game 3 of the Hi-Toms High School Classic featured two teams with lofty aspirations for the 2019 season . East Forsyth took on Randleman in a game that saw all the scoring come in the 4th inning. Randleman ran out both of their aces, each a NC State commit, lefty Trey Cooper and righty Matt Kemp. With these two arms, Randleman captured a 3-1 victory.

Cooper started the game, working 3.1 innings, throwing 56 total pitches. He punched 7 hitters, a majority with a hard, late breaking curveball that created freeze and swings and misses. Cooper did not issue any walks. In the 4th, Kemp came on, getting the save with 3.1 innings of work, only allowing 1 hit while striking out 4.

East Forsyth took the lead in the top of the 4th, where Hunter Hutchens unloaded on an offering from Cooper, depositing it well over the left field wall. Randleman would answer right back in the bottom of the 4th. Connor Sterling and Dominick Poole led the inning off with singles. Dawson Edwards followed by reaching on a sacrifice bunt attempt the created an errant throw, loading the bases. Brooks Brannon singled up the middle to tie the game at 1. After two outs, without advancing the go ahead run, Ramsey Petty was hit by a 1-0 pitch, moving Randleman into the lead. Edwards would come in later on a wild pitch, moving Randleman to a 3-1 lead.

Kemp would close the game retiring 9 of the last 10 hitters he faced from East Forsyth.
