The 2023 Overall Rankings have an update on deck, so The Hotlist is looking at several prospects who are on the rise, whether it’s at the state or national level.

Alex Altmann, LHP/OF, Rockford HS, MN
Altmann has a mature frame and plenty of athleticism at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds. A two-way prospect, he has above average bat speed from the left side and takes an aggressive hack with strength in the barrel. He takes good routes defensively and gets carry and accuracy to his throws. On the mound, he pitches with an up-tempo delivery with a compact arm action from a 3/4 slot. His fastball sits 80-81, topping out at 82, and he shows developing feel for both his breaking ball and changeup.
