#19 Looks for Sweep at South Meck with Kirby on Bump

#19 Ardrey Kell 4 South Mecklenburg 1
On Friday, South Meck hosted #19 Ardrey Kell for the 2nd game of week's 2 game series in the South Meck 4A Conference. The Knights ran out ace Jacob Kirby who fired a complete game, striking out 12, in the win.
Kell jumped out in the 3rd with hits from Veverka and Marconi. Marconi's double would plate Veverka. After South Meck scratched a run back in the 4th, Kell quickly took the lead back in the 5th. Veverka's 2-run single was followed by a Craft RBI single, with 2 outs, to move the knights ahead 4-1.
Kirby was efficient in the 7 inning out, totaling 99 pitches on the night. Ardrey Kell continues to stay hot, winning their last 7 games, and 9 of their last 10, moving to 9-2 overall and 6-0 in conference. They will play Harding on Tuesday in a double-header. South Meck falls to 8-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play. The Sabres will Olympic on TUE and THUR followed by Hough on Saturday.
