On November 6th, Prep Baseball launched its National Preseason ID Showcase Schedule, including three Preseason ID's from the state of Mississippi, followed by the Mississippi Preseason All-State. It all begins on Sunday, January 12th with the North Mississippi Preseason ID in Hernando, MS where we will host the first of our three ID events. The following Sunday we will head to Madison, MS for the Central Mississippi Preseason ID that will be held at Madison-Ridgeland Academy while wrapping up the Preseason ID's on Monday, January 20th at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC in Perkinson, MS for the South Mississippi Preseason ID.

Concluding our busy preseason schedule, we will host the 2025 Mississippi Preseason All-State at Clinton High School (Clinton, MS) for the second year in a row. This invite-only event will feature some of the top talent across the Magnolia State.

WHAT IS A PRESEASON ID EVENT?

The Preseason ID series is unique in several ways. It serves as an identifier heading into the spring season, giving our scouts as well as college recruiters, a list of prospects to follow as they plan their spring coverage.

We also tend to see prospects’ best performances in the Preseason, as most athletes are fresh and coming off of strict and targeted off-season training programs that have resulted in big gains, primed for updating their Prep Baseball profile.

All of which lends the perfect opportunity to secure invitations to some of the summer's biggest invite-only events such as the Magnolia State Games, AL/MS Border Battle, Top Prospect Games: Underclass and Prep Baseball Future Games.

Our staff strategically hosts Preseason ID events throughout the state in search of players who have taken advantage of the offseason, identifying new prospects to add to our follow lists or players our staff is already familiar with who are on the rise.

All player information including tech metrics, stats, videos, scouting reports and more will be hosted to the Prep Baseball website, bolstering the player profile, which is subscribed to by more than 1,000 colleges across the country.

NORTH MISSISSIPPI PRESEASON ID

 

Our staff is excited to kick off our 2025 schedule in the northern part of the state and run our first Preseason ID of the winter on Sunday, January 12th at The Gatorade Fieldhouse (Elevate) in Hernando, MS. This Preseason ID is an open event and is available for all 2025-2028 graduates. As we continue to grow in North Mississippi each year and are able to see some of the top talent the state has to offer, we have high expectations and are pumped to see the offseason progress from players across North Mississippi at one of the top facilities the area has to offer.

CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI PRESEASON ID

 

The following weekend, on Sunday, January 19th we are set to host the Central Mississippi Preseason ID at one of top facilities in the Madison area as we head over to newly turfed Madison-Ridgeland Academy. The central part of the Magnolia State offers a plethora of talent across all classes and has been a great area for our staff to get out and cover games in the spring season. We expect not only players from the central part of the state to be in attendance at this event, along with players from surrounding areas as well.

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI PRESEASON ID

 

We will wrap up our Preseason ID schedule on Monday, January 20th as we head down to the Gulf Coast area and host the South Mississippi Preseason ID that will be held at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC in Perkinston, MS. This will be our final open event of the preseason for all 2025-2028 graduates before we turn the page to the 2025 MHSAA spring season.

MISSISSIPPI PRESEASON ALL-STATE

 

+ The Mississippi Preseason All-State is our first invite-only event on our 2025 schedule and is our lone invite-only event until the summer rolls around. On Sunday, January 26th we will head back to Clinton High School where we hosted the event a year ago, Clinton High School is another top facility in the state that offers an all turf playing surface and is an all around top-notch venue. This showcase is an anuual event that allows our staff and scouts to see some of the top talent that the Magnolia State has to offer in one setting throughout the 2025-2028 classes. Last year this event was loaded with talent all around, including several Future Gamers, ranked prospects, Division-I commits and much more. Expectations are high for this event and we're pumped to see the litter of talent set to attend in 2025. 

Last year's roster for the Mississippi Preseason All-State now features 34 college commits, including 10 Divison-I commits including '25 3B Tre Bryant (Jackson Prep; Arizona State commit) who attended the 2023 Prep Baseball Future Games, '25 RHP Kevin Landry Farr (Northpoint Christian; Southern Miss commit) who was also a Future Gamer in 2023, '26 OF/LHP Tyner Flynt (Presbyterian Christian; Troy University commit) who was a Future Gamer this past summer and '26 RHP/INF Jackson Meehan (Northwest Rankin; Southern Miss commit) who was another Future Games participant from this past summer. 

Last year, the number of JUCO coaches was in the double digits and there was also a strong showing from JUCO commits from the event, the 2024 Mississippi Preseason All-State featured 21 JUCO commits since we hosted this event last year and we are seeing more commits on our social media platforms daily.
