Mizuno Player & Pitcher of the Week: Week 4

Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 4 (March 4-10).

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Tyrese Johnson 3B / 1B / West Point, MS / 2024

Rankings StateRank: 52 / POS: 5

Pearl River recruit & '24 CINF Tyrese Johnson hit for a .600 clip in week for as he would also go on to add a pair of home runs, a triple and picking up five RBI's for West Point in Week 4 and would earn Mizuno Player of the Week for Week 4 of the high school spring season.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Cayden Prestage OF / LHP / Itawamba, MS / 2026

Rankings StateRank: 11 / POS: 4

Another strong performance from the uncommitted junior southpaw was stellar once again on the mound for the Indians as he tossed a complete game no hitter this past week. Prestage would also collect 14 strikeouts for Itawamba on the mound as well, earning himself Mizuno Pitcher of the Week honors for Week 4.
