Each week during the high school season, we will be announcing the Mizuno Pitcher and Player of the Week for that particular week. Numerous players across the state continue to put up impressive numbers both as position players and pitchers on the mound. This year we will be selecting one Pitcher of the Week and one Player of the Week based on nominations from high school coaches across the state. Thanks to Mizuno for sponsoring both awards this season.

Let's take a look at the Mizuno Player and Pitcher of the Week for Week 2 (February 19-24).

 

MIZUNO PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Trey Myers SS / 2B / Mize , MS / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 43 / POS: 7 Myers put together a week that could very well be a decent season's worth of production. The uncommitted infielder picked up 9 hits in 11 at bats with 3 doubles, 3 home runs, while driving in an amazing 14 runs as the Bulldogs won 4 games to improve their record to 6-0 on the young season.

MIZUNO PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Logan Pratt LHP / OF / Baldwyn, MS / 2024 Pratt was called on twice this week to shut down opposing offenses and he responded very well. The uncommited senior lefty threw 6 1/3 innings of no run baseball in a start on Monday and followed that up with 2 more innings of relief on Friday without allowing an earned run. In the 2 appearances, Pratt allowed just 3 hits with 1 walk and 18 strikeouts.
