GOODMAN, MS - The Mississippi Preseason ID was held on Saturday, January 20th at Holmes CC in Goodman, MS. This event was an open event that consisted of some prospects from the 2024-2027 classes across all parts of Mississippi. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics via TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

PITCHER REPORTS

Kade Buchanan, Madison Ridgeland Academy (MS), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-11, 169-pounds. Projectable frame
Delivery: Easy, fluid delivery and repeatable. Slightly off line to 3B side with lead foot to plate. Body still maturing with more velocity on the way.
Arm Action: RH
FB: T79, 77-78 mph. Solid action to arm side. Still developing command. T2183, 2137 average rpm.
CB: 62-67 mph. Decent feel for pitch already. Spin numbers will improve as body matures. T2207, 2093 average rpm.
CH: 66-69 mph. Mimics FB well. T1613, 1581 average rpm.
ATH: 7.88 runner in the 60.

Weston Floyd, East Rankin Academy (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 200-pounds. Projectable frame
Delivery: Smooth tempo and repeatable delivery. Solid direction into release.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose action
FB: T81, 78-80 mph. Solid feel for strike zone, some arm side run. T1959, 1872 average rpm.
CB: 65-67 mph. Still developing command, though good tight bite on the pitch.
CH: 72-74 mph. Still developing command, though mimics fast well arm action. T1611, 1535 average rpm.

Cooper Lyrock, Pass Christian (MS), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-10, 156-pounds. Projectable build
Delivery: Smooth tempo with good direction. Could get longer into stride to force hip exertion. Solid delivery and still maturing.
Arm Action: RH. Long subtle action
FB: T72, 69-71 mph. Good feel for pitch. developing action T1949, 1640 average rpm.
CB: 65-66 mph. Spin will increase with body maturity. T1925, 1909 average rpm.
CH: 62-63 mph. Kills spin well and has solid feel for pitch. T1324, 1279 average rpm.

Kristian Thrash, Kosciusko (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-10, 162-pounds. Lean, lanky build
Delivery: Smooth tempo and repeatable delivery. Direction is off slightly to 3B side.Could get longer into stride length.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm action
FB: T78, 77-78 mph. Developing command T2256, 2214 average rpm.
CB: 65-65 mph. Still developing action. T2378, 2378 average rpm.
CH: 65-70 mph. Stays in zone though creates a good bit of spin. T2372, 2116 average rpm.

JD Whitaker, Hamilton (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/2B
Body: 5-10, 150-pounds. Lean, lanky frame
Delivery: Quicker though smooth and repeatable deliver. Slightly off line to 3B side with direction. Next level upside.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm action
FB: T84, 80-83 mph. Worked the inner half well with solid run T2391, 2186 average rpm.
CB: 69-70 mph. Very good feel and action. T2546, 2433 average rpm.

Eli Withers, French Camp Academy (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 6-0, 151-pounds. Lean, projectable frame
Delivery: Easy tempo with good feel for the mound. Good lines and depth. Creates some torque.
Arm Action: RH. Quick arm action
FB: T81, 78-81 mph. Solid feel for zone. Gets good arm side run. T2138, 2025 average rpm.
CB: 67-68 mph. Still developing action. T1709, 1686 average rpm.
CH: 68-69 mph. Decent feel for pitch and kills spin. T1551, 1489 average rpm.
