Throughout the Mississippi High School Playoffs, we have decided to highlight some of the top performances from game play each week. Last week each classification competed in the Elite 8 of their given bracket. In this article, you will see some standout performances from each class in the Elite 8 Round.

PLAYOFF PERFORMERS: ELITE 8
CLASS 7A
+ Tyler Sullivan (Hernando) threw 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits, with 5 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Lewisburg.
+ Brady Stinnett (Oxford) threw 7 innings, scattering 7 hits, allowing 2 earned runs, with 6 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Madison Central.
+ Reid Kent (Oxford) went 2 for 4 with a double, triple, and an rbi in 2 games out of the lead off spot versus Madison Central.
+ Wes White (Northwest Rankin) threw 6 1/3 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, with 12 strikeouts In a game 1 win over Gulfport.
+ Brady Saxton (Northwest Rankin) threw 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs, with 8 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Gulfport.
+ Prince Cottonham (Gulfport) went 4 for 7 with an rbi in 2 games versus Gulfport.
+ Walker Hooks (Brandon) threw 6 1/3 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 run, with 10 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Ocean Springs.
+ Keith Forbes (Brandon) went 3 for 6 with a double and 4 RBI’s in 2 games versus Ocean Springs.
CLASS 6A
+ Houston Green (Center Hill) threw 6 1/3 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 earned runs, with 10 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Grenada. Threw another 7 shutout innings, allowing 4 hits, with 6 strikeouts in a series clinching game 3 win. Green also went 4 for 10 at the plate with 2 RBI’s.
+ Preston Downs (Grenada) went 5 for 10 out of the lead off spot in 3 games versus Center Hill.
+ Brooks Willoughby (Warren Central) threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing 1 hit, 0 earned runs, with 7 strikeouts in a game 2 win over Saltillo.
+ Maddox Lynch (Warren Central) threw a CG shutout, allowing 3 hits, while striking out 8 in a series clinching win over Saltillo. Lynch also went 4 for 11 with a home run, triple, double, and 6 rbi’s at the plate during the series.
+ Ryan Nelson (Warren Central) went 4 for 8 with a double and 2 RBI’s out of the lead off spot in 3 games versus Saltillo.
+ Will Lipscomb (Saltillo) threw 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 run, with 5 strikeouts versus Warren Central.
+ Ethan Arriola (Saltillo) went 4 for 8 with a triple and 2 RBI’s in 3 games versus Warren Central.
+ Camden Clark (West Jones) threw a CG shutout, allowing 2 hits with 11 strikeouts in a game one win over George County.
+ Preston McAdory (George County) threw 5 innings of shutout baseball, allowing 2 hit with 7 strikeouts in a game 2 win over West Jones.
+ Tripp Lightsey (George County) went 4 for 10 with a double and 3 RBI’s in 3 games versus West Jones.
+ Ben Davis (George County) went 4 for 9 with 2 doubles, triple, and 1 RBI’s in 3 games versus West Jones.
+ Connor Dyess (Pearl River Central) threw 7 innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 run in a series clinching win over Picayune.
CLASS 5A
+ Aleck Farmer (Lafayette) threw 5 innings, allowing 1 hit, 2 runs, with 4 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Pontotoc. He also went 3 for 5 with an rbi at the plate.
+ Tanner Harris (Lafayette) threw 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits, with 5 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Pontotoc.
+ Landon Moore (New Hope) threw 4 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just 1 hit with 7 strikeouts to earn the game 1 win over Corinth.
+ Caiden Chain (New Hope) went 5 for 7 with a double and an rbi in 3 games versus Corinth.
+ Madden Butler (Corinth) went 5 for 8 with a double and 2 RBI’s in 3 games versus New Hope.
+ Cole Richardson (South Jones) threw 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits, with 10 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Stone.
+ Dylan Causey (South Jones) threw 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 run, while striking out 10 in a series clinching win over Stone.
+ Ryley Parker (South Jones) went 4 for 7 with a double and an rbi out of the lead off spot in 2 games versus Stone.
+ Hunter Harper (Vancleave) went 5 for 6 with a double, triple, and an rbi in 3 games versus East Central.
+ Tyler West (Vancleave) threw a CG shutout, allowing 5 hits, while striking out 6 in a game 2 win over East Central. West also went 4 for 1 with a double, a triple and 3 RBI’s.
+ Levi Tapp (Vancleave) threw 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 earned runs, with 6 strikeouts in a series clinching win over East Central.
CLASS 4A
+ Cooper Davis (Ripley) threw 8 innings, scattering 6 hits, allowing 1 run, with 4 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Kosciusko. Also went 3 for 6 with a triple at the plate.
+ Ty Long (Ripley) threw 6 2/3 innings, allowing 7 hits, 2 earned runs, with 11 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Kosciusko.
+ Landon Hawkins (Sumrall) went 3 for 8 with a home run, double, and 6 RBI’s in 2 wins over Poplarville.
+ Joseph Parker (Purvis) threw 5 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, with 7 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Columbia.
+ Eli Holloway (South Pontotoc) went 3 for 6 with 2 home runs and 3 RBI's out of the lead off spot in 3 games versus West Lauderdale.
+ Dalton Tutor (South Pontotoc) went 4 for 10 with a double and 3 RBI's in 3 games versus West Lauderdale.
+ Carter Horton (West Lauderdale) threw a CG shutout, allowing 3 hits, with 8 strikeouts in a game 2 win over South Pontotoc.
+ Carson Collums (South Pontotoc) threw 7 innings, scattering 5 hits, allowing 1 run in a series clinching win over West Lauderdale.
CLASS 3A
+ Mason McMillin (Mooreville) threw 6 1/3 innings, allowing 4 hits, 0 earned runs, with 6 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Alcorn Central.
+ Stephen Eakes (Southeast Lauderdale) threw 7 innings, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, with 11 strikeouts in a game 1 win over St. Patrick.
+ Logan Flaskamp (Southeast Lauderdale) went 5 for 7 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 4 RBI’s in a series win over St. Patrick.
+ Kolby Stringer (West Marion) threw 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, with 11 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Seminary.
+ Trace McDonald (West Marion) threw 5 innings, allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, with 6 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Seminary. He also went 4 for 8 with a home run, double, and 3 RBI’s at the plate.
CLASS 2A
+ Landon Harmon (East Union) threw 3 innings, allowing no hits, with 8 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Water Valley. Also went 6 for 8 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI’s at the plate.
+ Ben Basil (East Union) threw 8 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 6 hits, with 11 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Water Valley. Also went 4 for 7 with a home run, double, and 3 RBI’s at the plate.
+ Tristan Hendrix (Hatley) threw 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 in a game 1 win over Hamilton.
+ Braedyn Lackie (Hamilton) threw 7 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, with 4 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Hatley.
+ Blake Gosa (Hamilton) threw 8 innings, allowing 5 hits, 0 earned runs, with 5 strikeouts in a game 2 win over Hatley.
+ Suede Shows (Hamilton) went 4 for 10 with a home run, double, and 3 RBI’s in a 3 game series win over Hatley.
+ Luke Williams (Clarkdale) threw 7 innings, allowing 0 hits, 2 unearned runs, with 13 strikeouts In a game 1 win over Pisgah.
+ Eli Swearingen (Clarkdale) went 4 for 8 with 2 doubles and an rbi out of the lead off spot in 3 games versus Pisgah.
+ TJ Gordon (Clarkdale) went 4 for 9 with a home run, a double and 3 RBI’s in a 3 games series win over Pisgah.
+ Jax Joyner (Clarkdale) went 4 for 11 with a double and 3 RBI’s in a 3 game series win over Pisgah.
+ Kasen Tune (Lake) threw 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 run, with 3 strikeouts in a game 1 win over St. Andrews.
+ Aiden Alford (Lake) went 5 for 11 with a double, triple, and 5 rbi's in 3 games versus St. Andrews.
+ Justin Word (St. Andrew's) went 4 for 10 with a double in 3 games versus Lake. Also picked up the series clinching game 3 win with 3 scoreless innings in relief.
CLASS 1A
+ Drew Rowsey (Biggersville) threw a CG shutout, allowing 1 hit with 15 strikeouts in a Game 1 win over Hickory Flat. Also went 4 for 8 with 2 doubles at the plate.
+ Luke Overstreet (Biggersville) threw 7 1/3 innings of shutout baseball, scattering 6 hits, with 9 strikeouts as Biggersville moves on to the North State Championship series.
+ Brooks Seago (Biggersville) went 3 for 8 with a homer and 2 runs batted in in two wins versus Hickory Flat.
+ Zialis Blackmon (Biggersville) went 3 for 7 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s in 2 wins over Hickory Flat.
+ Coy Childs (Pine Grove) threw 7 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 earned runs, while striking out 11 in a game 1 win over West Union.
+ Trevor Shinall (Pine Grove) went 4 for 9 with a homer, a double and 2 RBI’s in 3 games versus West Union.
+ Jon Grey Morrisson (West Union) went 7 for 11, including 2 home runs and 3 RBI’s in a 3 game series with Pine Grove.
+ Ford Matthews (Taylorsville) threw a 5 inning no hitter with 7 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Enterprise Lincoln.
+ Noah Westbrook (Taylorsville) threw a CG shutout, allowing 3 hits, with 6 strikeouts in a series clinching win over Enterprise Lincoln.
+ Brady Quinn (Taylorsville) went 4 for 6 with a double and 2 RBI’s in 2 wins over Enterprise Lincoln.
+ Easton Ford (Taylorsville) went 3 for 6 with a double and 4 RBI’s in 2 wins over Enterprise Lincoln.
+ Justin San Miguel (Resurrection Catholic) went 5 for 11 with 2 home runs and 8 RBI’s in a 3 game series win over Ethel.
+ Luke Schnoor (Resurrection Catholic) went 7 for 10 with 2 doubles and 5 RBI’s in a 3 game series with Ethel.
+ Colin White (Ethel) threw 6 innings, scattering 6 hits, allowing 2 runs, with 8 strikeouts in a game 1 win over Resurrection Catholic.
