Mississippi Diamond Notes: Week 2

The Mississippi Diamond Notes is back for 2024 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance.
Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

The uncommited infielder went 7 for 9 on the week for the 5-0 Tigers with 4 walks, 2 hbp, and picked up an RBI. |

Maddox Lynch / WARREN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL, MS / 2025Lynch went 4 for 9 on the week as he picked up 2 doubles, scored 4 runs, and drove in two more Vikings. |

Jayden Taylor 3B / RHP / Harrison Central, MS / 2026Taylor picked up 5 hits in 11 at bats last week with 2 doubles, 4 runs, 2 stolen bases, and added 3 runs batted in for the Red Rebels. |

Tri Gaughf RHP / Harrison Central, MS / 2024

Gaughf had a solid week on both sides of the ball for the Red Rebels as he went 4 for 9 at the plate with a double, a triple, 4 runs, and 4 RBI's. The right handed pitcher also added 3 innings on the mound, allowing 1 hit while striking out 7.

Rolen Fanning OF / RHP / St. Andrew's Episcopal School, MS / 2024The uncommitted Fanning had an impressive week for the Saints picking up 8 total hits in 15 at bats with 2 doubles, 3 runs batted in, while scoring 6 more runs. |

Pritchard, an East Central CC recruit, threw a complete game no hitter with 2 walks and 14 strikeouts over Puckett last week. |
