HATTIESBURG, MS - The 2024 Magnolia State Games was held on June 18th and 19th at Pete Taylor Park on the campus of Southern Miss in Hattiesburg, MS. This event was an invite-only event that consisted of some prospects from the 2025-2028 classes across all parts of Mississippi. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw simulated innings during gameplay and were able to get numbers and metrics via TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Chase Adcock, Simpson Academy (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-0, 180-pounds. Proportional athletic frame with some room for added mass.
Hit: RHH. Relaxed, slightly crouched stance with a higher handset. Slight kick to load, hands fall into slot with ease. Controlled load with some aggression through the zone. Middle of the field approach with some juice to the pull side gap.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 85.6 mph. 295' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. 3/4 slot with quick action.
Defense: 1.97-2.08 pop times. Controlled body movements, quick transfers with accurate throws to 2B. Good position on the block and recover. Lots of upside behind the dish.

Caleb Authement, BROOKHAVEN ACADEMY EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-2, 225-pounds. Powerful, XL frame with a solid lower half.
Hit: RHH. Taller stance with a slightly higher handset. Hands move efficently through the zone, slightly upward pat bath. Stays connected through contact looks to drive balls to all fields.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 86.0 mph. 334' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. Quicker arm action from a high 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.04-2.09 pop times. Quality glove work behind the dish, smooth transfers with accurate throws to 2B. Gets in good position on block and recovery.
ATH: 7.97 runner in the 60.

Ethan Barnes, MAGNOLIA HEIGHTS SCHOOL (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: C/SS
Body: 6-1, 198-pounds. Athletic frame with strength in the lower half.
Hit: RHH. Athletic, open stance with slightly higher handset. Controlled load and stride. Front foot gets in line well with body. Some loft to swing. Works well with the pitch up the middle and to the pull side.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 86.9 mph. 315' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. INF-82 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 2.01-2.11 pop times. Solid setup behind the plate. Good direction on throws to 2nd base. Looks to get the ball out quickly with a strong arm. Good approach to bunts and blocks as well. Looks good in the infield as well. Smooth glove, good feet, and good range.

Ayden Dartez, ST STANISLAUS HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2027
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Proportion frame with some strength in the lower half.
Hit: RHH. Tall, slightly open stance with normal handset. Controlled load and stride withknee lift. Level bat path through the zone looking to drive the ball back up the middle. Also showed some power going to the pull side.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 79.4 mph. 303' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 2.06-2.13 pop times. Solid setup behind the plate. Good direction on throw downs to 2nd. Looks to get the ball out quickly. Good positioning on blocks and bunt coverages.

Colin Flurry, BOONEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-0, 190-pounds. Proportional frame with a strong lower half, room to add more mass.
Hit: RHH. Tall stance with a high handset. Easy load and stride. Hands drop into slot well. Consistent level bat path through the zone looking to drive the ball back up the middle.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 86.3 mph. 310' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-73 mph. INF-76 mph. OF-83 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 2.09-2.11 pop times. Showcased in all 3 positions. Good setup behind the plate. Good direction on throw-downs to 2nd base looking to get the ball out quick. Good approach to blocks and bunt coverages. Good look in the infield as well. Showed decent range with a good glove. Approached balls well in the outfield too. Fields well out fron to glove side.

Tanner Harris, LAFAYETTE HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-2, 180-pounds. Longer, wiry frame with room for added mass.
Hit: RHH. Relaxed stance with a slighty higer, away from body handset. Upward bat bath, quicker hands through the zone, stays inside the ball. Small kick to load, looks to use all fields.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 82.0 mph. 312' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-78 mph. Short, quick arm from a 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.07-2.11 pop times. Good movements behind the dish, quick transfers and accurate throws. Good positioning on block and recover.

John Lindsey III, PETAL HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-3, 251-pounds. Powerful frame with lots of strength in the lower half.
Hit: LHH. Relaxed handset with a slightly open stance. Small step to load, swings hard with a slightly upward bat path. Stays connected through contract with a mostly pull-side approach.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 86.8 mph. 370' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-70 mph. INF-73 mph. Quicker action from a high 3/4 slot.

Hit: RHH. Conventional stance with normal hadnset. Smooth load and stride. Uses a knee lift and likes to get the foot down early. Good hands through the zone. Showed some pop and still growing.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 77.5 mph. 278' max distance.

Defense: 2.06-2.15 pop times. Good setup behind the plate. Good direction and feet on throws to 2nd. Likes to get the ball out quickly and has a good arm. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages.

Jacob Matthews, BOONEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026

Hit: RHH. More narrow stance, higher relaxed handset. Small kick to load, moves barrel through the zone, moves hands efficiently. Mostly flat bat path, all fields hitter.

Wyatt McDaniels, MOOREVILLE HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2027
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 6-3, 200-pounds. Taller, athletic frame with a solid base.
Hit: RHH. Wide stance, relaxed handset with bat resting on shoulder. Hands fall into slot with ease, handles the barrel well, slight kick to load, mostly flat bat path with some slight lift.
Power: 96 max exit velocity, averaged 88.0 mph. 312' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-78 mph. OF-87 mph. quicker action from a 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: 1.99-2.03 pop times. Received well behind the dish, good positioning in the block and recover. Athletic footwork in the OF with smooth transitions and accurate throws.

Sawyer Pettit, Tri-County Academy (MS), 2027
Positional Profile: C/2B
Body: 6-1, 155-pounds. Lean, athletic frame with some room for added mass.
Hit: LHH. Wider stance, relaxed handset slightly away from body. Kick to load, upward bat path, transfers weight to backfoot well. Hands get through the zone efficiently, Middle of the field approach.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 78.0 mph. 281' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-74 mph. Quicker arm action from a 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: 1.97-1.97 pop times. Received balls well behind the plate, quick transfers with accurate throws to 2B. Quality communication and positioning on the block and recover.

Buckley Stewart, MADISON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 5-7, 160-pounds. Compact athletic frame with strength in the lower half.
Hit: LHH. Shorter, slightly crouched stance with a relaxed handset away from the body. Hands work striaght to baseball, quicker swing with a mostly flat bat path. Looks to drive baseballs to all parts of field with a quality contact tool.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 77.2 mph. 266' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. OF-79 mph. Short, quick arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot.

Hit: RHH. Wider stance, normal handset, bat rest on shoulder. Toe tap to load, lots of rotation in the swing. Hands work straight to and through baseball, all fields approach, looks to do damage.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 76.1 mph. 255' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-69 mph. Quicker action from a high 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.11-2.13 pop times. Received balls well behind the plate, quick transfers, efficient footwork. Accurate throws to 1B and 3B, fundamental block and recover.
