JACKSON, MS - The Jackson Summer ID was held on Wednesday, May 29th at Jackson Prep in Flowood, MS. This event was an open event that consisted of some prospects from the 2025-2028 classes across all parts of Mississippi. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics via TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

OUTFIELDER REPORTS

Henry Abt, hartfield academy (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Lean, athletic build.
Hit: RHH. Tall, athletic stance with slightly higher hand set. Smooth load and stride with knee lift. Some loft to swing but hands still work well through the zone. Good pull side approach. 73.8 mph bat speed with 12 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 100 max exit velocity, averaged 94.2 mph. 398' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF-88 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Good look in the outfield. Fields well out front to glove side. Strong accurate throws home.
ATH: 6.80 runner in the 60.

Nelson Barthel, Northwest Rankin (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 5-10, 190-pounds. Strong, durable build.
Hit: LHH. Balanced, slightly open stance with high hands. Controlled, easy load and stride. Hands fall into slot well. Good level bat path through the zone with a solid pull side approach. 65.4 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 79.4 mph. 309' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. OF-86 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 1.94-2.06 pop times. Solid setup behind the plate. Good feet and direction on throws to 2nd. Gets the ball out quickly for a strong throw. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages. Good look in the outfield as well. Fields out front well with a clean transfer on throws home.

Owen Byrd, CALEDONIA HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/2B
Body: 5-9, 150-pounds. Athletic frame with some strength in the lower half.
Hit: RHH. Tall, balanced stance with normal hand set. Easy load and stride. Toe-tap approach to stride. Attacks the ball out front well with a level bat path. Looks to drive the ball up the middle. 68.1 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 83.6 mph. 284' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-74 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Fields ball out front well in the outfield with good footwork. Good glove with smooth transfers on throws home.

Charlie Davis IV, TERRY HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026

Body: 5-8, 160-pounds. Longer, lean and athletic. Wiry, more room for added size.
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance with lower hand set. Controlled load and stride. Quick hands through the zone. Looks to pull the ball with aggression. 65.6 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.

Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Lean athletic frame.
Hit: LHH. Spread out stance with preset load. Preset load and stride. Hands work well through the zone looking to line the ball back up the middle. 59.9 mph bat speed with 18 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 86.8 mph. 285' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. INF-83 mph. OF-86 mph. Long arm action in the outfield. Short arm action in the infield and behind the plate.
Defense: 2.03-2.13 pop times. Fields the ball well in the outfield. Looking to field out front with a clean transfer on throws home. Good look in the infield. Good footwork and clean glove. Solid setup behind the plate as well. Good direction on throws to 2nd base. Looks to get the ball out quickly. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages.

Body: 6-1, 165-pounds. Lean, wiry frame.
Hit: SH. Balanced stance with normal hand set Easy load and stride from both sides of the plate. Level bat path attacking the pitch out front. Drives the ball up the middle and to the pull side well. 65 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 77.7 mph. 283' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-74 mph. OF-79 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Good glove in the outfield. Fields ball out front to glove side with clean transfers on throws home. Good look in the infield as well. Developing footwork but has a good glove and growing arm.

JaKobe Haynes, HILLCREST CHRISTIAN SCHOOL (MS), 2026

Body: 5-10, 163-pounds. Leaner and more athletic look. More room for added size.
Hit: RHH. Tall, athletic stance with slightly higher hand set. Controlled load and stride. Looks to attack the pitch out front, can lead on front side at times. Good pull side approach. 58.2 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 71.6 mph. 254' max distance.

Body: 5-5, 110-pounds. Smaller frame, more room for growth and added size.
Hit: LHH. Balanced stance with normal hand set Easy load and stride. Really good bat path through the zone. Looks to drive the ball up the middle and to the pull side. 56.3 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.

Kamron Roberts, Undecided (MS), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-7, 130-pounds. Leaner body, smaller frame. Can continue to fill out.
Hit: RHH. Balanced, slightly open stance with normal hand set. Controlled load and stride. Level bat path through the zone. Good pull side approach. 64 mph bat speed with 17 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 70.3 mph. 273' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. OF-79 mph. Quick loose arm action
Defense: Good look in both the outfield and infield. Fielded ball well out to glove side in the outfield. Arm will grow with body. Good footwork at short stop. Clean glove with smooth transfers on throws to 1st.
