JACKSON, MS - The Jackson Summer ID was held on Wednesday, May 29th at Jackson Prep in Flowood, MS. This event was an open event that consisted of some prospects from the 2025-2028 classes across all parts of Mississippi. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics via TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

JD Harvey, SEMINARY HIGH SCHOOL (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Lean, wiry frame.
Hit: RHH. Wide stance with relaxed hands. Small load and stride. Hands work well through the zone. Good up the middle and pull side approach. 68.4 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 83.8 mph. 323' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-79 mph. Short arm action.
Defense: 1.93-2.03 pop times. Solid setup behind the plate. Good direction on throws to 2nd. Gets the ball out quick with a strong arm. Fundamental approach to bunt coverages and blocks.
ATH: 7.27 runner in the 60.

Cameron McCain, Madison Central (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: C/RHP
Body: 5-10, 180-pounds. Strong, durable frame.
Hit: RHH. Athletic stance with a slightly higher hand set. Controlled load and stride. Level bat path through the zone looking to line the ball back up the middle and to the pull side. 67.7 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 81.0 mph. 335' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-78 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 1.94-2.03 pop times. Solid look behind the plate. Good direction and footwork. Gets the ball out quickly with a strong arm on throws to 2nd. Good positioning on blocks and bunt coverages.

Nelson Barthel, Northwest Rankin (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 5-10, 190-pounds. Strong, durable build.
Hit: LHH. Balanced, slightly open stance with high hands. Controlled, easy load and stride. Hands fall into slot well. Good level bat path through the zone with a solid pull side approach. 65.4 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 79.4 mph. 309' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. OF-86 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 1.94-2.06 pop times. Solid setup behind the plate. Good feet and direction on throws to 2nd. Gets the ball out quickly for a strong throw. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages. Good look in the outfield as well. Fields out front well with a clean transfer on throws home.

Hit: LHH. Spread out stance with preset load. Preset load and stride. Hands work well through the zone looking to line the ball back up the middle. 59.9 mph bat speed with 18 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 86.8 mph. 285' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. INF-83 mph. OF-86 mph. Long arm action in the outfield. Short arm action in the infield and behind the plate.
Defense: 2.03-2.13 pop times. Fields the ball well in the outfield. Looking to field out front with a clean transfer on throws home. Good look in the infield. Good footwork and clean glove. Solid setup behind the plate as well. Good direction on throws to 2nd base. Looks to get the ball out quickly. Good body positioning on blocks and bunt coverages.

Body: 5-9, 163-pounds. Projectable frame.
Hit: LHH. Balanced stance with normal hand set. Good controlled load and stride. Level bat path through the zone looking to drive the ball back up the middle. 58 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 82 max exit velocity, averaged 76.7 mph. 288' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. Short arm action
Defense: 2.09-2.28 pop times. Good set up behind the plate. Good footwork on throws to 2nd. Good direction and gets the ball out well. Fundamental approach to bunt coverages and blocks.
