Underclass Free Showcase: Stats Breakdown

The Underclass Free Showcase took place on Sunday, September 23rd at St. Thomas Aquinas high school in Hammond, LA. The open event featured 60 underclass prospects – from around the state - complete the 60-yard dash, positional workouts, live batting practice, followed by pitcher bullpen sessions. Here's a look at the numbers from Sunday's event.

TOP 60 YARD DASH
There were nine sub-7.25-second laser-timed 60-yard dash times recorded on Sunday. Louisiana State recruit, Connor Simon (St. Paul’s, 2021) clocked the quickest 60 of the event, posting a time of 7.02-seconds. Elijah Winters (Ponchatula, 2022), Chance Nabong (West Harrison (MS), 2021), Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, Reese Smith (Denham Springs, 2021) and Patrick Day (The Dunham School, 2021) followed suit, separated by slim margins.

D’Brendon Hill (Terrebonne, 2021) topped the fastball leaderboard touching 85 mph on Sunday. While Roth John (Covenant Christian, 2021), Hunter Ponson (Parkview Baptist, 2021), Brody Smith (Zachary, 2021) and Blake Gollott (St.Patrick (MS), 2022) each ran their fastballs up to 81+ mph.
