Today, Prep Baseball Report Mississippi takes a look at four 2018’s that are having solid 2017 summer campaigns.
+ JT Ginn, RHP/SS, Brandon(2018)
Ginn a Mississippi State recruit has strong, athletic, 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame. Right-handed pitcher throwing from a high-3/4 release with quality arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, really loading on backside, in-line direction, lands square and finishes athletically. Ginn has made a velocity jump this summer, fastball sitting 95-97 mph with good life. Also mixing in a wipeout slider at 85-87 mph and a changeup at 87 mph with sink and fading action.
+ Adarius Myers, OF, Seminary(2018)
Athletic 5-foot-10, 180-pound frame. Right-handed hitter with tall, balanced setup with consistent rhythm. Starts slightly open, with high hands, short stride and big rhythm in hands. Short direct path with a level plane, and solid bat speed. Gap-to-gap approach, consistently finding barrel. Showed athleticism posting a 6.81 60-yard dash time.
+ Kasey Donaldson, OF/LHP, West Harrison(2018)
Donaldson a Pearl River Community College recruit is an athletic 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame with wide shoulders and proportional strength. Left-handed hitter that hits from athletic setup, big leg lift, landing balanced and on time. Looseness in hands, short path, solid bat speed, and strength at contact. Left-handed pitcher throwing from a high-3/4 release with solid arm speed. Fastball sits 84-86 mph with arm side run and solid control. Breaking ball shows 2/8 shape with gradual break, occasional tight spin, depth and fastball arm speed at 71-72 mph.
+ AJ Stinson, RHP, Hattiesburg(2018)
Thick 6-foot, 190-pound frame. Long arm action into high-3/4 release, with arm speed and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, lands square and finishes upright. Fastball sat 84-86 mph, touching 87 at the Mississippi Open but has been up to 91 mph this summer, with improved strike throwing ability. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with near fastball arm speed, gradual spin and depth at 69-73 mph. Also throws changeup with near fastball arm speed and fade action at 76-78 mph and a slider at 72-73 mph.
