Quick Hits: P360 Fall League

The fall season in officially underway with many players participating in local fall leagues. On Monday and Tuesday, the Prep Baseball Report staff was on hand to cover the P360 Fall Wood Bat League in the Jackson metro area. Here are some quick notes on several players that stood out.
Brady Johnson, OF, St. Joe, 2019
Small, athletic 5-foot-9, 145-pound frame. Right-handed hitter has a relaxed, tall, neutral stance. Simple, smooth leg lift and short stride. Direct path making loud contact in first at-bat recording a RBI triple, posting a 4.8 home to first time on the turn.
Logan Landis, RHP/3B, Madison Central, 2020
The long limb, projectable frame right-handed pitcher work from a high slot with a medium arm circle and fairly quick arm stroke. Slow-tempo, with effort and stiffness in delivery. Good balance, directional path with an athletic finish. Fastball was around the zone at 77-79 mph, touching 80 mph also showing a breaking showing 11/5-shape with developing action at 63-64 mph.
Will Newell, OF/RHP, Florence, 2018
East Central Community College recruit. A 6-foot-0, 185-pound frame with present strength in build. The right-handed pitcher got just one inning of work but was dominant through four hitters. Right-handed pitcher throwing from high- ¾ release, solid balance and regular effort in delivery. Fluid rhythm with level shoulders, in-line direction while finishing athletically. Fastball sat 83-85 mph with slight arm side run and displayed the ability to command it around the zone, getting several swing and misses. Also flashed a 73-75 mph slider during warm-ups.
Keonte Carter, 1B/RHP, Terry, 2018
Medium 5-foot-11, 205-pound frame. Right-handed pitcher works from a high-3/4 slot with a medium arm circle. Smooth rhythm, drop-and-drive delivery, landing in-line and fairly athletic finish. Fastball sat 78-79 mph, touching 82 mph with flat action and developing command.
