The Mississippi high school season kicks off on February 26, the first day for regular season games. Most teams will begin practicing on January 29, getting their rosters set and finalizing their lineups.

Outlook

Coach Chris McCardle has increased expectations for this group after a 29-6 2017 campaign. With several talented players on the roster the Warriors are in a nice position. After logging significant varsity action as sophomores, OF Kris Jones and C Kade Shannon will provide leadership to an inexperienced lineup. On the mound RHP/3B Turner Swistak and LHP Nic Scucchi will be expected to have increased roles.  Swistak a Future Games participant has displayed solid arm strength pitching in the low to mid 80s while Scucchi showed feel for multiple pitches at the recent Preseason Prospect ID, sitting 78-81 with fastball. Also look out for 3B/RHP Alex Bolling to have a more significant part in the lineup this season as he has displayed solid bat speed with strength to the pull side at multiple events this summer.
