Today we begin to take an in depth look at each player present at the PBR at the Hank by checking in on the pitcher only's and catchers that took part in the event. Many of the position players also hopped on the mound and threw an inning during gameplay as their pitchiing analysis will be included in their positional analysis. Today we look at the 6 pitcher only's and 4 catchers that were at the event. 

 

Pitcher Only's

Cameron Keshock (2022, RHP/1B, Spanish Fort) 

6-foot-6, 215-pound mature frame. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.19. the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 101 mph, showing his strength and power ability. Advanced on the mound, using a loose arm action he showed electric arm speed from a high ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher who shows easy effort. Showed athletic balance point. Lands soft. Sat with his fastball at 84-86 mph with a max of 87 mph; had very consistent command and running action. Had glove side command and late action on his 12/6 curveball (72-74). His changeup (73-73) showed early action and arm side command. The frame and advanced pitchability show high projection for the recent Auburn commit. 

Tyler Wingard (2022, RHP/3B, Life Christian) 

6-foot-1, 205-pound solid frame. Above average on the mound, showed a consistent arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher who shows some effort. Showed athletic balance point. Changeup (73-74 mph), slider (72-75 mph).Sat with his fastball at 83-84 mph and topped out at 85 mph; has arm side control and sinking action with heavy movement. Threw a 11/5 curveball (73-74) with swing and miss action and very consistent control. The fastball is difficult for hitters to barrel as it shows heavy sink and plus action into RH hitters. really like the upside of this '22 RHP. 

Patrick Williamson (2023, RHP, McGill Toolen) 

5-foot-10, 190-pound projectable frame. Fluid on the mound, where he showed quick arm speed, also used a compact arm action with an over-the-top arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed athletic balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 81-83 mph and topped out at 84 mph; showed cutting action and glove side control. Throws a 12/6 curveball (68-70) that has control around the zone and late action. Young (2023) RHP that pounded the zone with both pitches and the fastball seemed to really take off late. 

Reece Miles (2021, LHP, Daphne) 

6-foot-4, 190-pound lean frame. On the mound, threw his fastball 79-80 mph and topped out at 81 mph; has running action and arm side control. Throws a 12/6 curveball (70-73) that has command low in the zone and tight action. Nice looking southpaw that shows solid mechanics and an easy arm action that can easily add more weight and strength. Showed typical LHP arm side action is an intriguing follow into next year's high school season. 

Blake Hayes (2021, RHP, Murphy) 

6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic frame. Solid on the mound, used a compact arm action and an over-the-top arm angle while showing some arm speed. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed consistent balance point. Displayed a clean finish Threw his fastball 76-77 mph with a max of 78 mph; had arm side control and sinking action with heavy movement. His 11/5 curveball (70-71) showed gradual action and around the zone control. Had some action and glove side command on his changeup (71-73). Really attacked the bottom half of the zone. 

Matthew Dimmick (2021, RHP/C, Mobile Christian) 

6-foot-2, 150-pound proportional frame. Smooth on the mound, uses a long arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed tall balance point. Has an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 71-72 mph and topped out at 74 mph; had control low in the zone and fading action. Threw a 11/5 curveball (64-67) with decent command and late action. Very clean mechanics and the arm works well. 

Catchers

Dominic Maldet (2023, C, Gulf Shores) 

5-foot-10, 175-pound projectable frame. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.93. Begins in a balanced stance with a compact load, then uses a controlled stride to initiate his swing. Bat speed was quick, used simple swing plane and a front foot finish. Barreled up some balls with some loud contact. Up the middle approach. the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 85 mph. He recorded a position velocity of 72 mph during throw downs; showed a fluid exchange, rhythmic feet and consistent hands. Has clean setup. Behind the plate, recorded a pop time of 2.12-2.28. Showed a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. Athletic young prospect.

David Eurgil (2023, C/RHP, Spanish Fort) 

6-foot-1, 160-pound proportional frame. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.82. Starts in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a toe tap just before his swing. Bat speed was efficient, displayed rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. Barreled up some balls during his round. Up the middle approach. Eurgil had an exit velocity of 83 mph. Best position velocity throwing to second was registered at 69 mph; has a natural exchange, sure hands and consistent feet. Some flexibility and narrow setup.While catching, recorded pop times of 2.19-2.47. Showed an-over-the-top slot with a short arm action. On the mound, where he showed above average arm speed, he had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and uses easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 75-76 mph with a max of 77 mph; has consistent control and cutting action. He showed in the zone command and gradual action on his 11/5 curveball (65-67). Versatile '23 grad that should continue to add sterngth. 

Tucker Crumpton (2024, C/2B, Tupelo Christian Prepatory, MS) 

5-foot-10, 125-pound lean frame. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 8.27. Began in an open stance with a compact load, then used a toe tap just before his swing. Bat speed was efficient, had flat swing plane and level finish. Barreled up a few balls with some loud contact. Line drive approach. the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 79 mph. Capable from the outfield, he displayed a position velocity of 74 mph; had a quick exchange and smooth footwork. His best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 56 mph; has a developing exchange, developing choppy feet and consistent hands. Quiet setup with some flexibility. While catching, recorded pop times of 2.69-2.95. Had a long arm action and an-over-the-top slot. One of the younger players at the event that showed solid fundamentals for future development. 

Holden Watson (2021, C/OF, St. Luke's Episcopal)  

5-foot-11, 172-pound athletic frame. Begins in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a toe tap to start his swing. Had upward swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. Has a quick exchange, rhythmic feet and soft hands. Had a high ¾ slot and a short arm action. Was only present for the game play segment of the event but showed loose hands at the plate and some "whip" in the barrel. Clean catch and throw skills behind the plate compliments some decent arm strength. Interesting senior follow.
