On The Recruiting Trail: 2018 RHP Cameron Daniels

The Prep Baseball Report Mississippi scouting staff recently sat down with St. Andrews, uncommitted 2018 RHP/3B to discuss how his recruiting process is coming along. Below is a transcript of our question and answer session:
PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
Daniels: Belhaven University, Millsaps College, Meridian Community College as well as East Central Community College
PBR: Have you developed a relationship with any specific coaches?
Daniels: Coach Clarke from Belhaven and Coach Hollliman from East Central have both been fun to get to know.
PBR: Have you taken any unofficial visits? If so, please describe each visit.
Daniels: I have not take any unofficial visits at this time.
PBR: Do you have any visits scheduled?
Daniels: I will be visiting Belhaven University and East Central Community College in the coming weeks.
PBR: Do you have any offers at this stage?
Daniels: Belhaven University has offered me.
PBR: Do you have a timeline for your recruitment?
Daniels: At this time I do not have a timeline for my recruitment process. This fall has been a big part in my recruitment and would like to see what the schools that have interest in me, have to offer.
PBR: Do you have a favorite at this stage?
Daniels: I do not have a favorite at this time and will continue to consider all of my options.
PBR: GPA/ACT?
Daniels: 3.9 GPA and 26 ACT
PBR: What showcases or events have been most meaningful to your recruitment thus far?
Daniels: The PBR All State Games at Jones was very important in my recruiting process as well as showcases at Memphis, Meridian and La Tech.
Scouting Report
11/12/17 Currently ranked No. 105 in Mississippi’s 2018 class. Medium 5-foot-11, 175-pound frame with an athletic build. Right-handed pitcher with a medium, quick arm stroke into high-3/4 release and regular effort in delivery. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction, lands square and finishes athletically and slightly off to first base side. Pitched 81-84 mph with his fastball, showed occasional arm side run as well as solid control. Breaking ball showed 11/5 shape, with depth at 71-75 mph. Changeup showed occasional fading action 68-70 mph.
