Pearl, MS - The Mississippi Fall ID was held on Saturday, October 15th at Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS. This event was an open event that consisted of prospects from the 2023-2026 classes. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast Motion, participated in defensive evaluations, ran the 60 yard-dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw in a bullpen setting and were able to get numbers and metrics off of our Trackman unit, such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Saturday.

Harlin Hovater, Magnolia Heights (MS), 2024
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Athletic frame
Hits: LHH. Wide stance with high handset. Controlled, quicker load with very short stride. Works a bit off of his back leg with level bat path and aggression. Middle to pull side approach with more power coming. Next level upside.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 85.6 MPH. 338' max distance.
Arm: RH. Loose arm action
Defense: (OF) Solid footwork, fields baseball out front to the side with strong arm and accuracy. (Catcher) Strong set up with quick feet and good direction on all throws. Good carry with accuracy on throws. Mature look to body positioning on blocks and bunts. Next level upside at catching position.

Dowe McGowan, Amory (MS), 2024
Positional Profile: 1B/3B
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds. Sturdy, larger frame
Hits: RHH. Wider, slightly open stance with higher hand set Quiet load and small stride. Hands sink some during load. Slightly upward bat path with aggression into contact and middle to pull side approach.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 78.8 MPH. 348' max distance.
Arm: RH. Long, loose arm action
Defense: (OF) Aggressive on ground balls with good footwork, fields the ball out front to the side. (1B) Solid footwork and glove action. Developing footwork on turns with accuracy on throws.

Jackson Howard, Columbus Christian (MS), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-2, 184-pounds. Solid frame.
Hits: RHH. Natural lift into the swing, works well into the lower-half through contact. Small toe-tap at the start of the swing to the get the body going.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 81.1 MPH. 352' max distance.
Arm: RH. Easy arm action, lower 3/4 slot across the diamond.
Defense: Solid footwork, easy controlled actions, accurate arm.

Landon Hoshell, Magnolia Heights (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Conventional stance, handset slightly behind shoulder Easy, controlled load. Short stride. Contact out front with good extension. Level bat path with middle to pull side approach.
Power: 77 max exit velocity, averaged 71.4 MPH. 260' max distance.
Arm: RH. Loose arm action
Defense: Developing footwork on ground balls. Solid glove with strong arm and accuracy on throws.
Run: 7.83 runner in the 60.

John Michael Harwood, Saltillo (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Muscular frame
Hits: RHH. Wider stance, slightly open with small preset load Small load with average stride. Hands work well to contact with level bat path. Uses the whole field with a line drive approach.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 74.6 MPH. 301' max distance.
Arm: RH. Some looseness to arm
Defense: Controlled approach to ground balls in the outfield. Fields the baseball to the glove side with natural transfer and accuracy on throws.

Aiden Peets, Madison-Ridgeland Academy (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-11, 140-pounds.
Hits: RHH. Conventional stance, high hand set. Slight crouch into load as hands drop, level bat path with line drive approach. works the whole field. Lower half, back side could get more explosive.
Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 75.2 MPH. 302' max distance.
Arm: RH. Long arm action
Defense: Still developing footwork though very aggressive approach to ground balls. Solid glove and natural transfers. Accuracy on throws across the diamond.

Adyn Westmoreland, Heritage Academy (MS), 2025

Body: 5-8, 182-pounds. Muscular frame
Hits: RHH. Wider stance, slightly open with higher handset Smooth load and stride with very quick hands. Short, very explosive bat with fairly level path. Drives the ball to all fields.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 83.4 MPH. 341' max distance.
Arm: RH. Long arm action
Defense: Good footwork, fields the baseball to the glove side with some accuracy on throws.

Reginald Reed, Magnolia Heights (MS), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-3, 210-pounds. Big, sturdy frame with length
Hits: RHH. Balanced stance with high hand set. Quicker though controlled load and stride. Foot gets down a little early sometimes. Strong upper half allows him to recover somewhat. Slight upward bat path with all fields power potential.
Power: 91 max exit velocity, averaged 82.8 MPH. 306' max distance.
Arm: RH. Longer arm action
Defense: Good footwork on ground balls, fields baseball out front to glove side. Developing arm strength.

Hits: RHH. Taller stance with higher hand set, slightly open Conventional load and stride as hands drop into slot. Slightly upward bat path and works off back leg. Uses the middle of the field consistently.
