While most of the state has experienced significant amounts of rain, with unplayable fields, we were very fortunate to have great weather in Jackson, MS for the MS All-State Games. The Invite Only event, was hosted at Jackson State University and revealed several standout performers from around the state. Today we take a brief look at a few uncommitted seniors we saw on last Sunday.

+ 2019 RHP/OF Cole Pittman (Porter's Chapel Ac.) has a wiry 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with room for added strength. Right-handed hitter started from tall, open setup working closed with a pronounced leg kick and rotational path producing  an exit velocity 78 mph. On the mound the right-hander worked around the zone with a 76-77 mph fastball, topping at 78 mph. 

+ 2019 OF/C Landon Bull (Warren Central) worked through ball aggressively in outfield, recording a positional velocity of 79 mph while making accurate throwing from behind the plate posting pop times of 1.98-2.05. Easy gather with directional footwork, he throws with low effort from a stiff, high-¾ slot. The right-handed hitter has tall setup with easy rhythm and loose hands, allowing him to produce ground ball/line drive contact from gap to gap.

+ 2019 C Tyler Harper (Northeast Jones HS) threw strikes on the bag at second base with pop times ranging 1.96-2.05. The ball comes out clean with good carry and a top velocity from the crouch of 77 mph. Displayed soft hands receiving and was able to get into adequate blocking position during game play.

+ 2019 Javondus McGruder (Ridgeland HS) started the day displaying a quality level of athleticism as he posted an event best 6.58 60-yard dash time. The athleticism and speed translated well to game play as McGruder covered the gaps of the outfield with ease. Tracked balls well, taking efficient routes to fly ball with long strides.

+ 2019 1B/C Joseph Bauer (Copiah Academy) has an lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 193-pounds, and the right-handed hitter projects for more power in the future as he continues to add strength. At the plate, Bauer starts from a tall and open setup with loose rhythm in hands, working into closed hitting position with an exaggerated leg kick. The swing was direct and quick to contact but flashed some inconsistency in timing and stiffness in finish, produced 89 mph exit velocity.

+ 2019 OF Lanacus Hudson (Raymond) is an athletic right-handed hitter that starts from an slightly open stance, before taking a pronounced leg lift , pinching his knees together before striding forward. Worked with a short, flat path to the ball creating ground ball/line drive contact during batting practice, posted an 80 mph exit velocity. Short stride runner with an easy gate, ran a 6.7 60-yard dash.
