PERKINSTON, MS - The Gulf Coast Open & Rising Stars ID was held on Tuesday, July 11th at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC in Perkinston, MS. This event was an open event that consisted of some of the top prospects from the 2024-2028 classes across all parts of Mississippi. These players went through extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to throw bullpens and were able to get numbers and metrics via TrackMan. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing on Tuesday.

Truman Moyer, Hahnville (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Lean, athletic frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced, open stance with relaxed hand set. Controlled load and stride with slight knee lift. Level bat path through the zone. Works well with the pitch for a solid all fields approach. 71.5 mph bat speed with 14 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 86.9 mph. 291' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-91 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Solid look in the outfield. Approaches ground balls easily with good footwork. Fields out front to glove side with a clean transfer for a strong throw home.
ATH: 6.99 runner in the 60.

Carson Green, West Jones (MS), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/OF
Body: 5-10, 170-pounds. Projectable athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Conventional stance with hands set slightly above back shoulder Short, easy load and stride. Slight knee lift. Attacks the ball out front well. Some loft to swing. Works well with the pitch to the pull side.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 78.4 mph. 308' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-82 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Good footwork in the outfield. Fields out front to glove side with a smooth transfer for a strong throw home.
ATH: 7.16 runner in the 60.

Easton Humphrey, St. Amant (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/OF
Body: 5-11, 160-pounds. Strong, tall frame.
Hit: LHH. Balanced stance with slight preset load. Slightly higher than normal hand set. Smooth, easy load and toe-tap stride. Some loft to swing but plenty of line drives. Works well with the pitch to the pull side 67.8 mph bat speed with 14 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 87 max exit velocity, averaged 79.0 mph. 303' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-81 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Good footwork in the outfield. Fields ball out front to glove side with good glovework. Clean transfer on throws home.
ATH: 6.94 runner in the 60.

Dylan Lamb, St. Stanislaus (MS), 2024
Positional Profile: OF
Body: 5-8, 160-pounds. Strong, athletic frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced slightly open stance with relaxed hand set. Smooth load and stride. Toe-tap approach to stride. Level bat path through the zone for a solid line drive approach. Works well with the pitch up the middle and pull side. 67.4 mph bat speed with 19 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 75.4 mph. 319' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-77 mph. Quick loose arm action
Defense: Good look in the outfield. Good footwork. Fields out front to glove side. Clean transfer for a strong throw home.
ATH: 7.13 runner in the 60.

Alex Scheuermann, St. Martin's Episcopal (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 5-8, 135-pounds. Projectable frame
Hit: LHH. Balanced stance with hands in line with back shoulder Controlled load with little to no stride. Level bat path through the zone for a solid line drive approach. Works well with the pitch to all fields. 63.8 mph bat speed with 9 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 70.8 mph. 254' max distance.
Arm: LH. INF-72 mph. OF-77 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Developing footwork in the outfield. Fields ball out front to the middle of his body. Developing glovework as well. Good footwork at 1st base on double play balls. Good glovework with quick transfer as well.
ATH: 7.37 runner in the 60.

Jaxon Hanks, Hahnville (LA), 2028
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-9, 145-pounds. Projectable frame
Hit: RHH. Tall stance with hands set slightly outside back shoulder Short, easy load and stride into aggressive swing. Works well with the pitch to all fields. Level bat path and quick hands allows for a solid line drive approach.
Arm: RH. OF-73 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Developing footwork in the outfield. Takes more of an infielder's approach to ground balls. Good glovework and a smooth transfer.
ATH: 8.18 runner in the 60.

Corey Bourgeois, Vandebilt Catholic (LA), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-11, 141-pounds. Lean athletic frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced, open stance with normal hand set in line with back shoulder. Easy load and stride. Attacks the ball out front with a level bat path for a solid line drive approach. Works with the pitch well up the middle and pull side.
Arm: RH. OF-71 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Solid look in the outfield. Good footwork. Fields the ball out front with good glovework and a smooth transfer for throws to home.
ATH: 7.50 runner in the 60.

Gage Lott, Seminary (MS), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-1, 160-pounds. Tall, lean frame
Hit: RHH. Balanced stance with relaxed hand set on back shoulder Easy load and stride. Slight knee lift. Attacks the ball out front well. Solid line drive approach to the pull side. 63.8 mph bat speed with 9 G’s of rotational acceleration.
Power: 85 max exit velocity, averaged 72.2 mph. 275' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-71 mph. Long arm action
Defense: Good footwork in the outfield. Approaches the ball well and fields it out front to the glove side. Clean transfer on throws home. Arm developing with maturity.
