We're less than a month away from the start of the PBR Missouri winter calendar, in which our staff will trek across the state to run various different events prior to the start of the high school season.

These events, for high school aged players, serve as an opportunity for aspiring collegiate athletes to accumulate accurate and verified measureables in a workout setting while also showcasing their talents in front of our staffs. By attending, players have the opportunity to update their Prep Baseball profile, which serves as a recruiting 'resume' in a way for each perspective athlete. All of our events serve as identifiers for future high leve, invite-only events, like our Top Prospect Games, All-State events, the prestigious PBR Future Games, and even the Prep Baseball All-American Game.

Several of the state's top prospects have already signed up for one of our upcoming winter events, and we're eager to see the multitude of talent that Missouri has to offer up-close. Below you will learn more about the high level prospects in the 'Show Me' state, regardless of class, that our staff will see this winter.

WINTER WATCHLIST

Ryker Benz 3B / Vianney, MO / 2025 From 2/7/23: "...Arguably the event’s most physical offensive showing came from Benz, an OIklahoma commit. A 6-foot, 185-pound well-proportioned athlete with added muscle and room for more, Benz pummeled baseballs with relative ease, including an event-high 103.2 mph max exit velocity and 94 mph average. He generated high hand (23.8 mph) and bat (76.3 mph) speed numbers without much effort, and his furthest batted ball traveled 363 feet, per TrackMan. Benz also recorded an 80% hard-hit rate and 80% sweet spot rate, both of which were amongst the day’s highest numbers."

Cole Chambers SS / St. Louis University, MO / 2027 From 12/18/23: "...Occupying the top spot in these inaugural rankings is Chambers. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound freshman is a budding multi-sport star, as he’s also a highly regarded soccer player to pair with his efforts on the diamond. Chambers’ talents on both sides of the ball stood out at the Rawlings Tigers Scout Day in February and ultimately earned him an invite to represent Team Missouri at the PBR Junior Future Games. He’s a 7.10 runner with a fast, athletic right-handed swing at the plate that stays in the hitting zone. Chambers moves well in the infield and outfield with advanced arm strength for his age, peaking at 82 mph and 88 mph respectively from both spots. We’ve also seen his fastball play in the low-80s on the mound, touching 84 mph, and he’s able to land a breaking ball for strikes while also showing feel for his changeup. Expect Chambers figures to be a high-end prospect in Missouri’s 2027 class for a large majority of his high school career."

Drake Gawer RHP / Sullivan, MO / 2025 From 9/18/23: "...Easily one of the day’s biggest winners and came away from Atkins Field on Sunday afternoon as a high follow prospect in the state’s current junior class. Standing at long, lanky, and lean-limbed 6-foot-6, 181-pounds, Gawer’s a controlled mover downhill at his size with a loose, fast arm to pair. His fastball played at 86-88 mph with carry at times, averaging 17 inches of vertical break, reaching 20.4 inches at peak. Gawer turned to a tight, bullet-like slider at 76-78 mph often, spotting it around the zone with confidence and pairing it nicely with his fastball. He also showed a 70-72 mph curveball and flashed fade on a 79-80 mph changeup, too."

Jake Greer C / Liberty, MO / 2025 From 2/7/23: "...came away from Saturday’s event as arguably the day’s in-event performer for his class, and he certainly is set to rise up our rankings next update. The 6-foot, 185-pound sophomore swung a fast, aggressive right-handed bat, barreling balls up at a 90.1 mph average, with a 96.2 mph peak, and his ability to do so while consistently elevating the baseball (271 ft. average, 353 ft. max) is certainly impressive. Arguably the most impressive aspect of Greer’s workout was his defense behind the plate, as he worked on the bag with precision (1.83-1.91 pops) and arm strength (79 mph). Greer’s arm strength translated showed on the infield, where he was 87 mph across the diamond on his firmest bullet."

Leo Humbert OF / Francis Howell , MO / 2025 From 8/11/23: "...It says a lot about Humbert the fact that a 4-for-8 showing with a home run felt like a “ho-hum” outcome from the talented outfielder. At 6-foot-1, 197-pounds, his frame carries durable strength that unassumingly yields 6.6-speed to go along with electric hands and bat speed that deliver an impactful punch from the right side. Running exit velocities up to 102 mph with a handsy load that saw significant whip of the barrel through the zone, Humbert produced an eye-opening moment with a home run that was somewhat mishit in producing a flicked shot that sailed over the left field wall. There is a quiet intensity to the way he handled himself on the diamond throughout the event, and each trip the plate felt like a must-watch situation in which he might leave the yard. That dangerous intent is likely to have college coaches hanging around, and based on his impact and acceleration, along with advanced pitching tracking, professional scouts are not likely far behind."

Trey Jozwiakowski 3B / Vianney, MO / 2025 From 6/20/23: “...The day’s most physical round of BP came from Jozwiakowski. He had four batted balls at over 101 mph, including a 104.7 mph laser up the middle and 103.4 mph barrel that comfortably cleared the left-center wall after traveling 394 feet. Though an out, Jozwiakowski squared one up with authority to right field in the game, showing power to all fields throughout the event. Defensively, Jozwiakowski led the day in max throwing velocity from the outfield (91 mph) and he peaked at 84 mph across the infield, too.”

CJ Lake 3B / Oakville, MO / 2026 From 6/12/23: "...is one of the top two-way prospects in the state’s 2026 class and showed just that at this event. At a wiry 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, Lake swung a flat, twitchy right-handed swing that worked line drives to all fields, averaging 88 mph per batted ball with a 93 mph peak. He hopped on the mound later in the event’s gameplay portion and pitched in the low-80s with his fastball, peaking at 84.9 mph, from a fast, loose arm that’s sure to tick up as he continues to mature. Lake spun his breaking ball for strikes, a pitch that played from the same arm window as his fastball and spun laterally off a 10/4 plane."

Luke McAtee C / DeSmet Jesuit, MO / 2027 From 12/26/23: "...Boasts a strong, physically advanced 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame and the freshman backstop from the St. Louis’ area. Like others on this list, McAtee also represented Team Missouri at the PBR Junior Future Games this past summer. He has notable bat speed and juice at the plate from a long, intentful, and aggressive right-handed swing. Defensively, McAtee’s arm has flashed accuracy from the chute in previous looks, popping in the 2.01-to-2.09 range at his best."

Drew Messey SS / Westminster Christian, MO / 2026 From 3/1/23: "...Messey really looked the part in all aspects of his workout, starting the day off on the mound, where he held 82-84 mph with his fastball, touching 85 mph on his highest bullet. He showed upside at the plate from a clean, polished, and projectable left-handed swing, spraying line drives to all fields in the process. Messey was also 85 mph across the infield, which paced all underclassmen at this event."

Ethan Milius OF / Fulton, MO / 2025 From 9/18/23: "...continues to look the part on both sides of the ball each time we see him. He’s a lean, fluid 6-foot-1, 160-pound athlete with ease and balance to all aspects of his game, starting at the plate, where he consistently sprayed line drives to the middle of the field throughout his round. Milius also ran one of the day’s fastest 60 times (6.91) and was up to 85 mph from the outfield, showing a clean, accurate arm and true ball. He hopped on the mound later on in the event and pitched in the low-80s, touching 84 mph, while showing a 67-70 mph curveball as well."

Brandon Ott RHP / DeSmet Jesuit, MO / 2027 From 12/18/23: "...Debuting at third in these rankings is Ott, who has one of the highest ceiling amongst this crop of names. Built at a lanky 6-foot-3, 165-pounds with lean limbs, Ott controls his levers downhill well for his age and stature with a loose, clean arm to pair. Ott’s fastball presently plays in the low-80s, though it’s reasonable to believe he’ll make a sizable velocity jump in the coming years given his ease and projectability. Ott throws two breaking balls - a more bendy curveball with higher arch and depth in the mid-60s that he’ll flip in for strikes, as well as a tighter slider that plays in the low-70s - and he also throws a running low-70s changeup at fastball arm speed."

Max Partney 3B / Hillsboro, MO / 2027 From 12/18/23: "...rounds out the top five and appears to be one of the more intriguing offensive prospects in the class. Partney has a polished and pure left-handed swing that just screams “hitter”. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound freshman showed advanced bat strength for his age at the Top Prospect Underclass Games in Columbia this summer, squaring his hardest ball up at 90 mph, while also posting some of the day’s best batted ball numbers on average (271 ft.) and at peak (308 ft.). Also a PBR Junior Future Games alum, Partney is a high-end left-handed bat to know in Missouri. "

Brendan Pyle 3B / Fort Zumwalt East, MO / 2026 From 10/3/23: "...Another name-to-know prospect in Missouri’s 2026 class that showed well in this look. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound sophomore was especially impressive on the infield, where he bounced around the dirt with a naturally confident presence to him. Pyle’s glovework on the move looked improve, particularly his backhand play, which he picked effortlessly and then fired an accurate strike across the infield. Offensively, Pyle worked direct to the baseball from a short, compact swing that was on the barrel to the pull-side, recording a 93.9 mph high. Pyle figures to be one of the top prospects in the state’s 2026 class throughout his prep career."

Carson Ramos C / TIMBERLAND HIGH, MO / 2025 From 6/20/23: “...continues to cement himself as a high-end backstop in Missouri’s 2025 class. Ramos’ glove is more than advanced for his age, working on the bag in the 1.94-to-2.02 range with an 81 mph high from the chute. His 84 mph high across the infield was tied for the day’s second firmest bullet, working out in front of the baseball with sure-handed glovework to pair. Offensively, Ramos works on top of the baseball and flat through the zone, back spinning line drives to the pull-side at his best, finding two authoritative barrels in game.”

Kyle Rehg SS / Eureka , MO / 2025 From 2/9/23: "...was another prospect to leave a lasting impression at his PBR event debut. A projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete with present strength attached, Rehg took an excellent round of BP, squaring balls up with authority on a consistent basis (90.2 mph) and reaching a 96.4 mph high. He’s an advanced athlete, running a 3.89 30-yard dash, and looked the part on the infield with swift, savvy actions on the dirt. Rehg showed well on the mound as well, running his fastball up to 87 mph, sitting at 84-86 mph with a changeup (76-77 mph) and slider (72 mph) to complement it."

Jathan Spain RHP / Cape Central, MO / 2026 From 2/15/23: "...After a breakout showing at the Bootheel Preseason ID, Spain did nothing but solidify his status as an upper-tier prospect in Missouri’s 2026 class at this event. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound freshman has a highly projectable fastball, one that sat at 85-87 mph at this event, yet comes out of his hand so clean and easy that there’s no doubt more velocity is coming soon. Spain spun a sharp 74-75 mph breaking ball around the zone with late break on occasion, and he showed more feel for his changeup than we saw at the Bootheel, fading it down in the zone at 77-79 mph in this pen. Aside from his talent on the mound, Spain has plenty of bat strength at the plate, swinging a fast right-handed bat that registered a 96.1 mph max exit velocity in BP."

Caden Throneberry OF / Marquette, MO / 2026 Mizzou commit. 6-foot-3, 195-pound frame that's packed with muscle and strength. Fast, physical left-handed hitter that has a middle-of-the-order ceiling at the next level. Also the starting quarterback at Marquette as a sophomore this past fall.

Henry Vedder RHP / St. Francis Borgia, MO / 2026 From 9/26/23: "...was one of the day’s biggest takeaways, leaving this event as an arrow-up prospect in the state’s sophomore class. Built at a lanky, long-limbed 6-foot-4, 170-pounds, Vedder showed a power three-pitch mix, grabbing uncomfortable swings-and-misses with his entire arsenal over a two-inning stint. His fastball played with carry up in the zone at 83-85, touching 86 mph, from a tight, compact arm window. Vedder’s best secondary pitch in this look was a true tumbling splitter that showed power swing-and-miss bite at 74-77 mph. He showed hard horizontal action on a 71-75 mph slider too, though he’s still fully developing feel for the pitch. Vedder is a high ceiling arm with all sorts of upside in the state’s 2026 class."

Howie Donoho 3B / Chillicothe, MO / 2027 From 12/26/23: "...6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete that really looks the part in a uniform and offers plenty of physical projection. Long and flat barrel through the zone, gap-to-gap approach. Steady actions on the infield, confident in his hands. Athletic on the mound, simple in-line delivery. Clean arm with a fastball that plays at 78-81 mph and big bend on a 62-65 mph breaking ball."

Kendall Hagedorn C / Smith-Cotton, MO / 2026 From 6/12/23: "...We’ve become increasingly familiar with Hagedorn over the last few months, and the 5-foot-11, 175-pound backstop has continuously cemented himself as a high-end prospect in the state’s 2026 class. In this look, Hagedorn averaged 87.5 mph per batted ball, recording a 94.9 mph high from a fast, aggressive right-handed swing in BP. He hammered a few baseballs in the gameplay portion too - a loud triple into the right-center gap, and a pull-side double later on. Hagedorn looks the part of a premier right-handed hitter in his class, and he’s a stable presence behind the plate too, with soft hands that receive the baseball well."

Rocco Marriott OF / Platte County, MO / 2026 From 7/6/23: "...High level athlete with professional bloodlines and an impressive physical stature for his age; 6-foot-3, 185-pounds. Represented Team Missouri at the PBR Junior Future Games last summer, is also the starting quarterback at Platte County. Easy arm strength on the mound, has been up to 87 mph in our looks with more to come. Swings a fast, physical right-handed barrel to pair with pull-side juice. One of the top prospects in Missouri’s 2026 class."

Addison Miller SS / Homeschool, MO / 2025 From 6/20/23: “…Miller was a standout from Creekside at this event, showing off noticeable tools packed within a twitchy 5-foot-6, 150-pound frame. He darted to a 6.75 on our Swift lasers, reaching a peak speed of 21 mph, and he was 88 mph across the infield, too. Offensively, Miller looked to launch, working uphill throughout his round of BP. A high follow athlete in the class, Miller earned an invite to the Future Games at this event’s conclusion.

Cameron Taylor 3B / Kearney , MO / 2026 From 9/17/23: "...6-foot-1, 160-pound frame with athleticism and lean, well-proportioned strength. 6.96 runner, flat barrel through the zone that sprayed line drives to all fields throughout his round. Hopped on the mound following his position player workout and showed a live, loose, and athletic arm that touched 89 mph, pitching in the mid-to-upper-80s. Spun a low-70s curveball and turned over a changeup at 74-77 mph, too."

Haden Terrill RHP / Wellington Napoleon, MO / 2025 From 3/1/23: "...A high ceiling arm to know from Saturday’s event. At 6-foot-6, 210-pounds with long, lanky levers, Terrill’s fastball came out of his hand easily, sitting 86-88 mph from a lower arm slot with ride up in the zone at times. Terrill’s primary secondary pitch was a sweeping slider at 77-80 mph, and he also turned over a firm 81-82 mph changeup with straight action. Terrill’s levers flashed strength in BP too, as he averaged 88.1 mph per batted ball, peaking at 92.7 mph. He’s headed into the spring with plenty of momentum, and is a name-to-know uncommitted arm in the state."

Calen Jones 1B / Helias Catholic, MO / 2025 From 9/18/23: "... popped to our staff at the Top Prospect Games this summer after a noteworthy showing on the mound, and the 6-foot, 175-pound junior has only ticked up since that look in June. Jones pumped the firmest fastball of the entire event, touching 87.8 mph on his firmest bullet, while sitting at 85-87 mph during his lone inning of work. His arm works fast and easy with arm speed out front, and he creates natural carry up in the zone on true four-seam fastball that averaged 18.2 inches of vertical carry. Though he’s still developing full feel for his breaking ball, he did flash late lateral break on it at times at 71-74 mph. Jones enters the fall and winter seasons with an arrow-up next to his name and is definitely one to follow as his junior year continues."

Brody Kleffner RHP / Fatima, MO / 2025 From 9/18/23: "...has considerable upside on the mound to pair with a loose, lively 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. Kleffner’s fastball played at 84-86 mph, touching 87 mph, from a fast, explosive arm that should only continue to add velocity as he gets older. He grabbed whiffs at the top of the zone, spinning at upwards of 2400 RPM with rise (17.6”) and run (19.4”) at peak. Kleffner showed real feel for a 76-78 mph changeup that played with late arm-side action, thrown at arm speed. Still developing his curveball (71-73 mph) and slider (74-77 mph), the latter showed upside with tight lateral spin from a similar arm angle to his fastball."

Matthew States 1B / Father Tolton Catholic, MO / 2025 From 9/29/23: "...continues to show a simple and polished approach at the plate. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound junior stayed on his barrel and up the middle throughout his round, backspinning baseballs from a smooth, level right-handed swing. He posted the second highest average exit velocity (90 mph) on the day, hitting his hardest ball at 95 mph, with a peak batted distance of 338 ft., per TrackMan. States is an athletic mover at first base that has clean hands, footwork feel, and bounce off the bag."

Seaton Thompson SS / Ladue, MO / 2026 From 10/9/23: "...was another winner from this event. Thompson stands at a well-proportioned 6-foot, 160-pounds with present lean strength, and he’s plenty capable of adding more muscle mass as he continues to mature physically, too. A switch-hitter, Thompson brings a quiet and collected presence at the plate with loose easy hands that work uphill to contact from both sides of the plate. Thompson was on the barrel some throughout his round, squaring his hardest ball up at 92.7 mph. On the infield, Thompson plays with natural bounce pre-pitch and gets around the baseball on the move."

Teagan Trent C / Logan-Rogersville, MO / 2026 From 9/26/23: "...first popped onto our radar this past winter, and the 5-foot-11, 160-pound backstop put together a strong all-around showing in this most recent look. Trent stays balanced at the plate and knows how to use the whole field, staying through the baseball from a simple right-handed stroke. His carrying tool figures to be his glove, however, as Trent has the makings of a potential asset behind the plate. He has above-average arm strength for his age (T75 mph), popping a 1.97 on his best bullet during the workout, and showing a quick release in-game to nab a would-be base stealer, too. He’s a natural receiver with soft hands, adept blocking skills, and he showed vocal leadership various times in-game, too."

Aiden Zehnle LHP / Oakville, MO / 2026 From 9/20/23: "...Another high ceiling prospect to come away a winner from this event. Stands at a premium, long-levered 6-foot-4, 195-pounds. Zehnle’s innate ability to elevate the baseball from a long, uphill left-handed swing proved true throughout his round, as seven of his batted balls traveled more than 290 feet. His furthest ball went 329 feet, which was amongst the day’s best, and Zehnle all of the day’s hitters with a 97 mph max exit velocity. Aside from his talents at the plate, Zehnle’s fastball played in the low-80s, touching 82 mph."

Jackson Tankesley 1B / Liberty , MO / 2025 From 9/18/23: "...continues to trend up in the state’s junior class, showing well offensively yet again, this time in our trip to Atkins Field. The 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitter showed balance and polish at the plate from a clean, direct right-handed swing, using the whole field as a result. Tankesley’s a proven performer in-game offensively too, producing at Creekside earlier this summer."

Warren Robertson OF / Rockhurst , MO / 2027 From 12/26/23: "...Physical 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with present strength and room to add more. Long and leveraged swing, creates lift through contact with advanced bat strength to pair - posted a 92.6 mph max exit velocity at the PBR Junior Future Games this summer."

Preston McCracken RHP / Republic, MO / 2026 6-foot-2, 180-pound long-limbed and lanky athlete that can land a breaking ball for strikes and has reportedly climbed into the mid-to-upper-80s with his fastball.

Jackson Miller SS / Chaminade College Prep, MO / 2026 From 9/20/23: "..A left-handed hitter to know from this event. Miller offers premium projectability, stepping onto the field at a lean and lanky-levered 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. Still learning how to control his levers consistently, Miller’s best barrels came to the pull-side, where he recorded his peak exit velocity (87.5 mph) and furthest batted mark (318 ft.), both of which are likely to trend up as he continues to get stronger. Away from the batter’s box, Miller’s 60 time (7.13) and max infield velocity (82 mph) were both the second-highest marks in their respective categories from this event."
