Missouri High School Team Rankings: Update (5/12/24)
May 12, 2024
PREP BASEBALL MISSOURI TEAM RANKINGS
Our rankings are broken up into two divisions: large school and small schools. We classify the 'large' schools as those residing in Class 5 & 6, while the small schools make up the remaining MSHSAA classifications. We rank what we believe to be the top teams in the state at that level, as well as highlighting several 'On Deck' teams.
Make sure to follow along on Twitter at @PrepBaseballMO for all of our high school coverage throughout the spring.
LARGE SCHOOL NOTES
+ We don’t have a ton of movement on our board in this final update, except there is a new No. 2 this week: Liberty North (28-8). The Eagles, who have won six straight games entering the playoffs, are coming off a three win week that saw them defeat Lee’s Summit, Park Hill, and rival Liberty, who’s also inside our ‘Large School’ rankings. Liberty North has lost one game since April 17th and the Eagles, once again, look every bit the part of a state championship contender.
+ Fort Zumwalt South (25-4) bumps up one spot to ninth overall on our board. The Bulldogs, who are the top team in Class 5, have won 11 straight games and have only lost one game since March 29th. They beat Chaminade, Troy Buchanan, and Francis Howell North this week before beating No. 3 Francis Howell in short game fashion (13-2) on Saturday. Fort Zumwalt South made a trip to Ozark last spring for the Class 5 state playoffs and should be considered the favorites to take home the crown with postseason play starting next week.
