With several high-profile prospects on Westminster’s roster, Hehner often flew under the radar during the Wildcats’ third consecutive Class 4 state championship last spring. But the fact of the matter is, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound right-hander was a major reason why Westminster once again brought the big trophy back home to Town & Country.

On a team that features two top 5-ranked 2014 prospects – SS Shane Benes and C Brett Bond – Hehner proved to be a big-game performer when he earned the victory over Logan-Rogersville  by throwing five-innings of shutout relief to send the Wildcats to the championship game.

For the season, Hehner went a perfect 7-0 for the 33-3 Wildcats. He finished with a 1.91 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP. In 40.1 innings, he struck out 30, walked 16 and yielded 31 hits.

In February at the St. Louis Preseason Prospect Showcase, Hehner topped at 84 mph with his fastball. He showed three-pitch feel, which included a 69-73 mph curveball and a 68-72 mph changeup. Although he didn’t see much action in the field during the spring, Hehner showed some pull-side pop from the right side. He registered an exit velocity of 88 mph.
