On Tuesday, D1 Baseball and Prep Baseball Report teamed up to release a Top 100 ranking of college and high school prospects in the 2017 draft class. Several of the college prospects have a well-documented history with the Prep Baseball Report. Some were standouts at past events and clear future prospects. Others showed the ability to play at the Division I level, but have developed into something more. Here is a look at some notable college prospects in the Top 100 and some of their history. The numbers indicate their rank in the Top 100.

4. Brendan McKay, LHP/1B, Louisville
McKay was a top recruit for Louisville and gained national notoriety with his scoreless innings streak for Blackhawk HS, PA. Since then, he has entered the discussion as a possible candidate for No. 1 overall pick and is a legitimate first-round prospect as a pitcher and hitter. Before all that, he was a member of Team Pennsylvania as a rising junior at the 2012 Midwest Future Games. Here is a report from that event: The 6-foot-1, 185-pound left-hander shined at the Future Games. In four innings, he struck out eight, allowed one hit and no runs behind an easy 83-86 mph with arm-side life. McKay worked both sides of the plate, and flashed a plus 72-74 mph curveball. McKay commanded the strike zone with three pitches, and looks to have plenty more in the tank. He also showed an athletic left-handed swing at the plate, and could probably do both at the next level.
