St. Louis Gamers Scout Day: Middle Infielders Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 19 at All-Star Sports in St. Louis, Missouri. Over 60 players attended the event in the 2022 to 2019 classes.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.
This group of middle infielders included on player from the 2023 class, two from the class of 2022, four from the 2021 class, five from the 2020 class, and three from the 2019 class. Five players posted 90-plus exit velos with one 89 mph exit velo. Five players were 80 mph or better with their infield velos. Here is a look at the middle infielders from the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day.
Middle Infielders
Drew Baughman SS / 2B / CBC, MO / 2021Baughman is a 5-foot-9 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.13 home to first and has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a slightly open stance, controlled leg kid, smooth acceleration with hand, quick bat speed with level path, swing produced mostly middle to pull side contact during hitting evals, has feel for the barrel with hard consistent contact. On the infield, 73 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, gains ground to 1B after the catch, fluid footwork with clean exchange, still developing with already athletic actions. |
Ryan Bibb RHP / SS / Mascoutah , IL / 2022Bibb is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed shortstop in Illinois' 2022 class. He ran a 4.20 home to first and has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, leg kick to in line stride, quiet hands, level swing path with loose hands generating quick bat speed, middle of the field approach. On the infield, 85 mph positional velocity, three quarters arm slot, quick transfer with fast feet, creates momentum to throw playing through the ball, strong young athlete with high ceiling. |
Nathan Fee-Wiley SS / RHP / Christian Brothers College, MO / 2022Fee-Wiley is an athletically built 5-foo-9 145-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.44 home to first and has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts loaded in back leg, no wasted movement in hands, slight dip into legs for timing, in line stride, quick hands with level path to extension, stays in lower half, mostly middle to pull side line drives during batting evals. On the infield, 70 mph positional velocity, three quarters arm slot, fluid actions, fielding ball the out front in athletic position, clean exchanges with momentum from feet. |
Cade Hohl SS / 2B / SLUH, MO / 2020Hohl is a strong and athletic 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.29 home to first and has a 93 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and open stance, controlled leg lift, in line stride, aggressive and quick bat speed, loose hands with bat whip, stays on ball after contact, loud contact to middle and pull side of the field, feel for the barrel. On the infield, 80 mph infield velo, smooth and under control with athletic actions, over the top arm slot, quick feet with fluid transfers, arm works, ball comes out of hand well. |

At the plate, balanced stance, lands slightly closed, no wasted movement in load, quiet hands, calm leg lift, quick bat speed with level path, hard middle to pull side contact with occasional power.
