Scout Day: St. Louis Gamers - 2021, 2022 and 2023 Pitchers Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 18 at All-Star Performance in St. Louis, Missouri. Nearly sixty players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.
Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.
Here is a closer look at the 2021-2022-2023 infielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.
2021-2022-2023 Pitchers
Caden Archer RHP / OF / Edwardsville , IL / 2023Archer is a 5-foot-11, 155-pound, right-handed pitcher in Illinois’ class of 2023. Archer has an athletic delivery, repeats, works a slower tempo and then is aggressive down the mound, long loose arm action, works from a high three-quarter release, repeats delivery with minimal effort. Fastball sits 74-75 mph, tops at 76 mph, thrown for strikes, arm side run, changeup is 70-72 mph, fastball arm speed, some sinking action, curveball is 62-63 mph, near fastball arm speed, mostly gradual action. Archer’s raw ability, loose arm and projectable frame make him a prospect to keep an eye on as he develops. |
David Broughton SS / RHP / St. John Vianney, MO / 2023Broughton is a 6-foot, 155-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2023 class. Broughton has a lean build, relaxed set up on the mound, some rhythm with his delivery, longer arm action, over the top release. Fastball is 68-70 mph, thrown for strikes, mostly straight, changeup is 63-65 mph, fastball arm speed, fading action, curveball is 58-60 mph, 12-to-6 shape, late downward action. |
Landen Cella RHP / 3B / Westminster , MO / 2022Cella is a 5-foot-9, 185-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. Cella has a stalky build, worked from the stretch only at the event, athletic delivery, strong and explosive lower half, high three-quarter release, showed ability to command three pitches for strikes. Fastball is 72-75 mph, heavy, occasional arm side run, changeup is 67-70 mph, arm side run, near fastball arm speed, curveball 61-64 mph, 11-to-5 shape, late bite, chance to be a plus pitch for Cella as he continues to develop. |
Markel Dixon OF / RHP / McCleur North, MO / 2021Dixon is a 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri's 2021 class. On the mound, Dixon has an over the top arm slot, quick arm speed, athletic and repeatable delivery, arm works downhill, body stays under control, in line stride, fastball at 79-80 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 shape, sharp and late break to bottom of the zone, good depth and command, 67-71 mph, throws splitter with slight sink at 73-74 mph. |
Joey Funk LHP / OF / Vianney, MO / 2022Funk is a 6-foot, 155-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. On the mound, Funk has a projectable frame with long limbs, athletic delivery with some rhythm, works at a good tempo, easy arm action from a high three-quarter release. Fastball is 71-73 mph, high percentage of strikes, slight run to arm side, changeup is 64-65 mph, around the zone, some depth, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 63-64 mph, gradual action, 1-to-7 shape. |
Tyler Gilmer RHP / 3B / Sikeston, MO / 2021Gilmer is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound, right-handed hitting corner infielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Gilmer works from the stretch only, smooth delivery with some rhythm, builds momentum down the mound, works downhill, repeatable delivery, over the top release, loose arm. Fastball sits 76-78 mph, tops as 79 mph, thrown for a high percentage of strikes, slider is sharp at times, chance to be a plus pitch, 66-68 mph at the event, 12-to-6 shape, changeup also has a chance to be a plus pitch, near fastball arm speed, occasional sink, 70-72 mph, located to the bottom of the zone. |
Gregory Hamilton 1B / RHP / CBC, MO / 2021Hamilton is a 6-foot-2, 158-pound, in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, athletic build, long limbs, raw ability, easy delivery, long loose arm action, works downhill and directional towards home plate. Fastball is 71-73 mph, slight arm side run, thrown for a high percentage of strikes, curveball is 57-59 mph, mostly gradual action, occasional late bite, 11-to-5 shape. |
Brayden Holder OF / RHP / Vianney, MO / 2021Holder is 5-foot-11, 146-pound, pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Holder shows a simple and controlled delivery, aggressive at release, long loose arm action, leverages up front side, repeats with some rhythm. Fastball is 75-77, late run, high percentage of strikes, changeup is 69-70 mph, near fastball arm speed, fading action, curveball is 67-68 mph, late action, tough to see out of hand, chance to be a plus pitch, thrown with near fastball arm speed. |
Nate Kemp RHP / C / St. Dominic , MO / 2022Kemp is a 5-foot-11, 178-pound, pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. On the mound, Kemp works solely from the stretch, simple delivery with some rhythm, accelerates down the mound, clean arm action, high three-quarter release, downhill tilt, three pitches for strikes. Fastball sits 73-75 mph, tops at 76 mph, strikes at top and bottom of zone, changeup was 60-65 mph, high percentage of strikes with some depth, near fastball arm speed, curveball is 60-65 mph, sharp downward action, 11-to-5 shape, chance to be a plus pitch. |
Michael Larson RHP / 3B / O'Fallon, IL / 2022Larson is a 6-foot-2 152-pound right-handed pitcher in Illinois' 2022 class. On the mound, Larson has a quicker tempo, over the top arm slot, compact delivery with no wasted movement, repeatable, lands slightly closed, finishes in athletic finish, fastball at 78-79 mph, some with slight running action, breaking ball at 70-71 mph, 12-to-6 shape, change up with slight sink at 76 mph, throws with fastball arm speed, projection in build and arm action. |
Adam McGee RHP / 1B / Belleville West, IL / 2022McGee is a well built 1-foot-4 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Illinois' 2022 class. On the mound, McGee throws with regular effort from a three-quarters arm slot, controlled leg lift to balance point, accelerates down the mound, some deception in release point and length, fastball works at 75-77 mph, some with slight running action, throws change with fastball arm speed, 71-73 mph, showed command, late arm side sink. |
Kyle McConachie OF / SS / Columbia, IL / 2022McConachie is a 5-foot-7, 135-pound, right-handed pitcher in Illinois’ 2022 class. McConachie has an athletic build, slender frame and raw ability. Worked from the stretch only at the event, athletic and easy delivery, accelerates down the mound, repeats, loose and quick arm action, three-quarter release, Fastball is 69-71 mph, around the zone, arm side run, curveball is 62-63 mph, mostly gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, changeup has plus movement, good fading action, near fastball arm speed, 62-64 mph, chance to be a plus pitch as McConachie develops. |
Jack Meyer SS / RHP / Rockwood Summit, MO / 2021Meyer is a 6-foot-1, 178-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Meyer has a simple and rhythmic delivery, repeats with downhill tilt, works from the extreme first base side of the rubber, high three-quarter release, throws all pitches with minimal effort. Miscik has a big frame and a strong build, work primarily from the stretch at the event, athletic set up, simple leg lift, accelerates down the mound into an explosive finish, long arm action, high three-quarter release. Fastball is 76-77 mph, arm side run, around the strike zone, changeup is 67-68 mph, thrown for strikes, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, near fastball arm speed, thrown for strikes between 60-62 mph. |
Kyle Mosley OF / LHP / Parkway Central, MO / 2022Mosley is a 5-foot-11, 135-pound, left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. On the mound, Mosley has long limbs with a slender frame and some raw ability, clean loose arm action, high three-quarter release, uses a high glove side to aid in deception. Fastball sits 67-70 mph, tops at 71 mph, around the zone, some arm side run, changeup is 56-57 mph, slows arm, arm side run, curveball is 56-60 mph, slows arm, gradual action, 1-to-7 shape. |
Nicholas Moten SS / RHP / Westminster , MO / 2021Moten is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound, right-handed hitting middle infielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. On the mound, Moten has a strong and athletic build, easy delivery, high leg kick, directional down the mound, repeats, explosive lower half, downhill tilt, very quick arm, loose arm action, over the top release. Fastball sits 84-86 mph, tops at 87 mph, high percentage of strikes, occasional cut. Ty Myers RHP / 1B / Edwardsville , IL / 2022Myers is a 6-foot-3, 160-pound, right-handed pitcher in Illinois’ 2022 class. Myers works primarily from the stretch at the event, simple delivery, works downhill, long arm action, over the top release, stride is slightly across body, accelerates down the mound. Fastball sits 75-77 mph, tops out at 80 mph, thrown for strikes, changeup is 70-71 mph, near fastball arm speed, slight arm side run, curveball is 59-61 mph, 12-to-6 shape, late downward action. Myer’s longs limbs and lean frame are projectable which makes him a prospect to keep an eye on as he develops. |
Trevor Quick SS / 2B / Seckman, MO / 2021Quick has a very lean build, long levers and is 6-foot, 145 pound middle infielder in Missouri’s 2021 class.On the mound, Quick has a simple delivery, works downhill, deceptive with shorter arm action, quick arm, three-quarter slot. Fastball is heavy, slight arm side run, sits 74-76 mph, around the zone, changeup is 71-72 mph at the event, near fastball arm speed, curveball is sharp and late breaking at times, 12-to-6 shape. |
Hayden Sanborn RHP / OF / Vianney, MO / 2022Sanborn is a 5-foot-10, 150-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. On the mound, Sanborn works predominately in the stretch, sinks and drives off the back side, starts with a slower tempo then accelerates down the mound, long arm action, high three-quarter release. Fastball sits 71-73 mph, tops at 74 mph, around the zone, curveball is 64-65 mph, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, near fastball arm speed, changeup is 62-66 mph, slows arm, some fading action. |
Cashen Schranz RHP / 2B / Richmond Heights, MO / 2021Schranz is a 6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Schranz’s delivery is simple, repeatable, accelerates down the mound, works with good tempo, over the top release, clean arm action, deceptive with a higher glove side action, downhill. Fastball sits 73-76 mph, tops at 77 mph, heavy, occasional cut, thrown for strikes. Changeup is 64-65 mph, near fastball armspeed, Curveball has a change to be plus pitch for Schranz, sharp bite at times, 11-to-5 shape, 62-63 mph, showed good feel for this pitch as he was able to throw it for a high percentage of strikes. |
Gordon Walker RHP / OF / MICDS, MO / 2022Walker is a slender and long limbed 6-foot, 145-pound, right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. On the mound, Walker has a simple delivery, directional towards home plate, accelerates down the mound, repeats, over the top release with arm. Fastball sits 67-71 mph, tops at 72 mph, occasional cut action, curveball is 59-62 mph, near fastball arm speed, gradual action, 12-to-6 shape, changeup is 61-66 mph. |
