At the Kansas City Prospect ID Showcase at Rockhurst University, Carter Buresh from Hickman showed to be a projectable talent who, as he continues to fill out his frame, has ability to play at the collegiate level. The wiry 6-foot-4, 175-pound Buresh showed good movements to the ball in the outfield, catching it high and in front while getting himself in good position to throw the ball. His throws were accurate to third and home (72-mph). At the plate, Buresh is quiet in the box, keeping his hands inside the ball and showing the ability to make consistent contact. He showed some speed, with a 4.42 home to first.

PBR: What do you expect going into your junior season?
Buresh: Going into my junior season, I expect to improve the offensive part of my game. I have spent time in the off season working on my swing.  

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player?
Buresh: My fielding is my biggest strength by far. I have been an outfielder for years so I have had a lot of time to hone my skills.

PBR: What aspect of your game do you believe needs the most improvement?
Buresh: My hitting is the part of my game that needs the most improvement. I have changed my stance and swing this off season and hope to continue to hit the ball harder.

PBR: What are your expectations and experiences in the recruiting process?
Buresh: I don’t really know what to expect from the recruiting process. I think it is every players hope that if they play well they will get noticed by coaches & scouts, but from what I have heard you have to be the assertive one and put yourself out there.

PBR: What type of program would you like to play at? What is most important to you: Caliber of program, coaching staff, academics, etc…?
Buresh: It is most baseball players’ goal to be recruited onto a division one team and I am no exception, but the most important thing to me is going to a school that has the career path I wish to pursue, which is architecture.

PBR: What schools are you most interested in right now, and why?
Buresh: My top choices for schools as of now are Kansas, Kansas State, and Minnesota, the reason being their recent success in their baseball programs and the fact that all three schools have majors in architecture.

PBR: What were your personal goals for the 2012 season and were they met? Goals for the 2013 season?Buresh: My first goal in the 2012 season was to make the Varsity baseball team, which I met, and my second goal was to hit .300, which I barely achieved hitting a .301

PBR: What team do you play for in the summer?
Buresh: I recently joined the St. Louis Pirates.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher/hitter that you have faced?
Buresh: The toughest pitcher I faced in my last season was Ryan Phillips of Rock Bridge High School who signed with Missouri.

PBR: What is your fondest memory or highlight from your 2012 baseball season (High School or Summer)?
Buresh: My greatest memory from my 2012 baseball season was in my first game against Rock Bridge High School. It was the bottom of the seventh inning when a ball was hit to me in right field with a runner on second. I managed to field it cleanly and make a good throw to the cutoff who then relayed it home for the out to prolong the game.

PBR: What is your most memorable moment in baseball so far in your life?
Buresh: My most memorable moment was in my 14u season when my team went up to Iowa for the USSSA world series and we won first place in the gold division.

PBR: You recently attended a PBR Showcase, what are your thoughts on how it will be beneficial to you as you keep moving forward in the recruiting process?
Buresh: I believe that as I go further and further in the recruiting process I think that college coaches and scouts will want to see a little more of me, and PBR will help with that by having a video and description of me so the coach/scout can get a good look to see if he wants to come and see me play live.
