Pirates Scout Day: Pitching Leaderboard

By: Diego Solares
Area Scout, Illinois & Missouri

On Saturday, February 18th, the PBR Missouri staff traveled to Fenton, MO, to host the Pirates Scout Day with the St. Louis Pirates organization. Roughly 30 players representing the 2023-to-2026 grad classes from both Illinois and Missouri participated in a pro-style workout, collecting up-to-date statistics and advanced data with the help of our unrivaled tech partners.

Shortly after the event’s conclusion, our staff posted a ‘Stat Story’ that highlighted some of the event’s stat leaders in our traditional categories, like the 60-yard dash, throwing velocities, and more. You can find that by clicking HERE.

We then compiled our notes and digested the day as a whole within our 'Quick Hits', where we highlighted over 30 names that impressed our staff. Those nuggets can be found HERE.

Earlier today our staff put together our 'Hitting Leaderboard' from this event, identifying several batted ball standouts with the help of our partners at TrackMan. We'll turn our attention back to the data now but on the pitching side instead, diving deeper into which arms spun the baseball at the highest rate at this event.
