PBR MO Uncommitted Spotlight: Kaden Kinsler
October 12, 2022
With the fall season coming to a close, our staff will take some time to highlight several uncommitted prospects over the next few weeks as we prepare to enter the baseball off-season and throughout. These players have all impressed our staff recently, whether it be at events, tournaments, or other up-close looks via our boots-on-the-ground coverage.
Today we'll shine some light on OF Kaden Kinsler (Elsberry, 2023), who's a name that impressed our staff across a few stops this year's circuit. Our first look at Kinsler this summer came back on June 15th at the St. Louis Open, where he was amongst the top position players in attendance. We had this to say about his showing that day:
"...ran the day’s fastest 60-yard dash at 6.78 on our lasers. He’s a strong 5-foot-11, 180-pound athlete with a thick lower half that displayed above-average hand speed (21.7 mph) and bat speed (73.5 mph) at the plate. Kinsler stayed flat through the zone to contact, working on top of the baseball with a line drive approach, peaking at 93.2 mph."
We received another up-close look at Kinsler recently at the Missouri Fall Upperclass Games, an invite-only event that featured uncommitted 2023 and 2024 grads this past September. He stood out again on that day and earned another positive review from our staff:
"...is a quick twitch athlete who showed well at the St. Louis Open earlier this summer and yet again at this event. Kinsler posted some of the event’s top Blast Motion metrics, averaging 23.1 mph of hand speed and 74.3 mph of bat speed, respectively. Kinsler generated quality contact off the barrel throughout BP as a result, posting several 90+ mph batted balls with a 94.3 mph max, per TrackMan. His athleticism translates to the outfield, where Kinsler is a fluid mover that attacks the baseball with lower half rhythm."
Headed into the fall of his senior season, Kinsler remains one of the top uncommitted left-handed bats on the market in Missour's 2023 class.
