Class 5

DeSmet 5,#2  CBC 4
Dan Dyszlewski went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for DeSmet to upset CBC. Tom Kalish went seven innings for DeSmet allowing three earned runs on nine hits and striking out seven.  Andrew Kuhlmann earned the save for DeSmet.  Matt Vierling was 3-for-4 on the day with double and a walk, while Stephen Haring added two hits and an RBI for CBC.

#6 Blue Springs South 10, Belton 2
Blue Springs South scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and then kept adding runs. Reece Eddins started for the Jaguars and went six innings allowing just two hits. He also had seven strikeouts and only two walks. Belton’s starter Nate Brown went the distance allowing six earned runs and totaling six strikeouts. Braden Younkin went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI for the Jaguars. 

Lee's Summit 8, Truman 6
The Tigers scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to beat Truman in extra frames. Ryan Laddish went 5 1/3 innings for Lee’s Summit allowing ten hits and striking out three. Austin Ross came on in the bottom of the eighth to pick up the save. Christian Janota, Van Oswald, Brayden Jensen, Nicholas Adrales, and Mitchell Herrick all had multi-hit games for the Patriots. Clint Jennings reached base four times and scored two runs for Lee’s Summit. Travis Simonin and Ryan Laddish both had a pair of RBI.

St. Joseph Central 9, Summit Christian Academy 5
St. Joe Central held on to the lead, after scoring three in the bottom of the third. Central’s starter Dawson Smith scattered eight hits over six innings, while striking out six Eagles. Freshman Will Finch went 3 1/3 innings and allowed four hits for Summit Christian Academy. Jacob Gill was 2-for-2 for St. Joe Central. Taurin Hughes had a huge day for the Eagles. He went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a pair of RBI, and a run scored.

Hunter Dame throws complete game allowing four hits and recording 11 strikeouts.  Chris Terry goest 1-for-2 with an RBI and Ron Wellman goes 2-for-3 with an RBI for Conway.

#2 Forsyth 8, #9 Blue Eye 3
Jay Kaufman threw a complete game to earn the win for Forsyth.  Kaufman allowed two earned runs on eight hits with nine strikeouts on the mound.  At the plate, Kaufman knocked in two runs and scored two in the 8-3 win. Blue Eye's Melcher tossed a complete game as well allowing eight runs on eight hits with five strikeouts.  He added a home run and three RBI.

Greenfield 5, #9 Leopold 3
Freshman Trey McDaniel moved to 6-0 on the season with a win over Leopold, 5-3.  McDaniel settled down after allowing three runs in the first and threw six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and recording five strike outs.  Trynton Tompkins was 1-for-2 with an RBI double to lead Greenville.
