Missouri Class of 2022 Rankings

A look at our 2022 class rankings as they enter their all important junior season. Over 75 new players entered the 250 player ranking, while also seeing a number of players shoot up the rankings including a new number one ranked player. As one would expect an offseason of added strength and size has added a number of interesting uncommitted players to the top of the rankings especially some projectible pitching prospects. In all the class currently has 19 committed players which, a number that should sky rocket as we get into the front part of the summer. Below we highlighted some of our top movers and new players along with a complete list of the 2022 Missouri rankings.
The New 1
Zack Stewart 3B / Lebanon , MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 1 / POS: 1
An athletic physical presence at 6'2 225 lbs Stewart is what you draw up when looking for a middle of the lineup type bat. The lefty has plus bat speed and natural lift in his swing and plus power. Defensively shows soft hands and the ability to make throws both on the run and from multiple arm angles. Commitment: Missouri State |
The Risers
Jack DuMont LHP / 1B St. Louis University , MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 18 / POS: 3
The 6'3 physical LHP opened eyes at the MO Preseason All-State event in February. Pitching mostly in the mid 80's topping out at 87 while showing a good feel for his CH and CB. Dumont also demonstrated strength with the bat posting a 95 exit vlo during BP. College: Uncommitted |
Drew Politte 3B / RHP Lindbergh , MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 22 / POS: 4
A 2-way standout with upside has taken another jump over the winter. On the mound the he has a short clean arm action with a fastball at 86-89 that jumps on hitters and a tight breaking ball and a changeup that shows some fade. Carter DeGondea LHP / Raymore Peculiar, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 26 / POS: 4
An athletic LHP with a clean short repeatable arm action. Has had another upward tick in velocity over the winter, sitting 84-86 with life and arm side run at the MOKAN Preseason All-State invite. With a four pitch mix DeGondea also features a tight slider (68-72), curveball (65-77) and change up (75-76) making him one of the top available arms in the state. College: Uncommitted |
Jacob Brown RHP / Westminster, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 32 / POS: 10
Brown was pitching in the upper 80's at the A's scout day while also demonstrating one of the top breaking balls in the class. With a good feel for his three pitch mix, while using his sharp breaking ball (2600+ rpm) as a put away pitch College: Uncommitted

Steven Henley RHP / South Pemiscot , MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 40 / POS: 13
6'2 190 RHP with a whippy arm action impressed at the MO Preseason All-State event where his fastball was 84-87. Henley showed good command for his sharp slider 74-77 mph. An upside arm that is one to have on your radar. College: Uncommitted |
The Newcomers
Joe Ruzicka RHP / Webster Groves, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 25 / POS: 8
Caught our attention at the Midwest Futures scout day. A strike thrower that has a fastball in the upper 80's and gets to 90 mph. Ruzicka also demonstrated good command of his secondary pitches cb (70-73) and changeup (77-78), making him a must see arm in the '22 class.

Gavin Johnston RHP / Seckman, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 27 / POS: 9
The 6'2 RHP produced good downhill action on his 88-90 mph fastball while also showing a sharp curveball at 76-79, while the change had fade and some arm side run thrown with good arm speed.

Jonah Sarabia RHP / 3B Tolton Catholic , MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 33 / POS: 11
Impressed on both sides of the ball at the Columbia Warriors scout day. On the mound he showed an 84-88 mph fb with a good feel for a changeup that featured good arm side run and a slider. Offensively, showed strength in his swing producing loud line drives (92 exit vlo). College: Uncommitted |
Will Richardson LHP / OF Jackson, MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 35 / POS: 5
An athletic 2-way talent with the ability to impact the game in a variety of different ways. ON the mound the LHP pitched 84-87 with a 70-71 curveball and an upper 70's change-up. Positionally Richardson showed off the athleticism running a 6.84 60 and showing off some bat speed during BP and the obvious arm strength from the OF at 91 mph. College: Uncommitted |
Dylan Tate RHP / Eureka , MO / 2022Rankings StateRank: 43 / POS: 14
Tate demonstrated plus arm strength with an upper 80's fastball while topping out at 90 mph multiple times during the Naturals scout day. Also showing the makings of a plus changeup with fade and arm side run, while also having the ability to land his curveball for strikes. College: Uncommitted |
