MOKAN Fall Prospect Games Analysis: Pitchers

The PBR MOKAN Fall Underclass Games took place on Sunday, October 4th at Creekside Baseball Complex. The event featured over 30 prospects from the 2023 and 2024 classes.
In the days following the event, we released the top statistical performers from the event. Today, we continue to roll out reports on every player from the event by taking a look at the pitchers.

Leonard Casey III LHP / OF / Raytown South , MO / 2023On the mound, the left-handed pitcher features a controlled delivery with slow, repeatable tempo. Reaches an athletic balance point before landing square to home with good direction. Delivers from a long ¾ arm action. Fastball sat 73-76 mph with slight arm-side run for strikes. Curveball has sweeping 2/8 break, 58-62 mph. Changeup thrown firm with some fade, 68 mph. |

Kasey Crawford RHP / OF / Olathe West, KS / 2023Physically advanced 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with projectability. Oklahoma commit. The right-handed pitcher works out of a quick rocker-step delivery with a repeatable leg swing into his balance point. Aggressive down the mound, landing square to home. Long ¾ arm action with present arm speed. Fastball shows above average run and sink, thrown low in the zone at 85-89 mph. Slider features short 10/4 break with tight spin, 73 mph. Changeup shows solid fade action thrown with good arm speed, 77 mph. Arm to follow in the Kansas 2023 class. |

Reaches a tall balance point before landing closed with a strong front side. Throws from a short high-¾ arm action, hiding the ball through delivery. Fastball sat 72-75 mph with arm-side run for strikes. Curveball has a big 1/7 shape with some depth, 61-63 mph. Changeup has occasional fade action, 63-65 mph, thrown with good arm speed. |

Lands square to home with a clean release and tall finish. Throws from a long ¾ arm action. Fastball sat 70-72 mph with heavy action and slight fade around the zone. Slider shows 10/4 break and developing spin, 65 mph. Changeup features fade and slight sink, 65 mph. |

Jackson Downing 3B / RHP / Liberty North, MO / 2023On the mound, the projectable right-handed pitcher works out of a quick tall-and-fall delivery with an aggressive release, landing square and finishing tall. Throws from a quick high-¾ arm action with shoulder tilt, showing good arm speed. Fastball sat 81-83 mph with straight action on a downhill plane. Curveball has 12/6 break and solid depth, 73-74 mph. Slider has tight tight 11/5 break with above average spin, 78 mph. Changeup has some heavy sink action, 73 mph. |

Curveball has 11/5 break with developing spin, 67-69 mph. Changeup shows good fade and sink with swing-and-miss potential, 69-71 mph. Should see velocity increases with added strength and maturity. |
