MO Preseason All-State Player Analysis: Right Handed Pitchers

The MO Preseason All-State event was held on February 6th at the Sports Barn in Wentzville, MO. The 90+ player invite only event featured many of the top 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024's from across the state of Missouri. Today we are taking an in depth look at the right handed pitchers from the event.
Ramone Boyd II RHP / OF / Parkway North, MO / 2022Body: 6-foot-2, 160-pound lean and athletic frame with room for more added strength and size. Delivery: Slow and methodical tempo. High balance point with weight leaning on back leg as stride leg moves forward. Works well directionally down the mound with good momentum. High glove side with slight shoulder tilt. Arm Action: Over the top arm slot with clean arm action. FB: 76-78 mph, tilted action with some arm side run. SL: 61 mph, flat shape with backing up action. CH: 67-70 mph, good downward fading action. |
Seth Benes RHP / 3B / Liberty , MO / 2023Body: 6-foot-1, 170-pound athletic frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: On the mound shows slow/smooth tempo to balance point. High leg kick to balance point with weight shifted slightly towards the lead leg. High glove side and creates slight shoulder tilt. Lands directly down the mound and gets good momentum towards the plate. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with short/clean arm action and good hand speed. FB: 84-86 mph, mostly straight action with lots of life at the top of the zone. CB: 67-68 mph, sharp 12/6 shape with heavy downward action. CH: 77-79 mph, mostly straight shape with good hand speed and solid command. |
Andrew Brakensiek RHP / OF / Francis Howell, MO / 2022Body: 6-foot, 205-pound stocky and well-built frame. Delivery: Quick rhythm and simple rocker style delivery. Mid height balance point with good leg drive into the back leg. Hands work up and down with lower half and keeps an upright posture with upper body. Works directly down the mound and finishes with good balance. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with a long and clean arm action. FB: 82-83 mph, mostly straight action with good tilt. SL: 73-74 mph, short breaking 10/4 shape with developing spin. CH: 76-78 mph, arm side fade and good downward action with good command. |
Jacob Brown RHP / Westminster, MO / 2022Body: 5-foot-8, 160-pound athletic and developing frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: Slow and smooth delivery and repeats it well. High balance point with tall and fall style direction down the mound. Slight shoulder and hip turn at balance point. Sets hands low around the belt. Hands break low and consistently across all pitches. Very controlled delivery and good overall balance. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with clean arm action and good hand speed. FB: 86-88 mph, quality spin rate with slight arm side run. SL: 74-75 mph, 10/4 shape with good spin and feel. CB: 74-75 mph, 11/5 shape with tight spin and good downward action. CH: 78-79 mph, straight action with arm side fade. |
Jack Bryan RHP / 3B / Francis Howell, MO / 2022Body: 6-foot, 160-pound lean frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: Rocker style delivery with smooth tempo. Mid height balance point with weight shifted on top of back leg. Works down the middle of the mound with good momentum. Hand break is consistent with a glove tap rhythm. Weight leans back on with slight shoulder tilt. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with clean arm action. FB: 78-81 mph, riding life at the top of the zone with some slight arm side run. CB: 65 mph, 11/5 shape with good downward break. CH: 75 mph, slight fading action with good hand speed. |
Henry Cordes RHP / 3B / MICDS, MO / 2024Body: 6-foot, 160-pound lean frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: On the mound uses a slow/stalled out rhythm that he repeats well. High balance point and sinks weight into the back leg and gets good drive directionally down the middle of the mound. Athletic finish and good balance throughout the delivery. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with smooth arm action. FB: 80-81 mph, flat action with a lot of arm side run. CB: 71-72 mph, early break with 11/5 shape. SL: 69-70 mph, short break with 9/3 shape. CH: 74-75 mph, good fade to arm side and some downward action. |
Steven Henley RHP / OF / South Pemiscot , MO / 2022
Delivery: On the mound starts with a slow tempo and smooth rhythm with the pace picking up at balance point. Hands work up and down with lower half. Gets some lower body leg drive off the back side and pushes directly down the the center of the mound. Rotates hard off the plant foot at release. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with long arm action. FB: 84-87 mph, riding life with fastball especially at the top of the zone. SL: 74-77 mph, short 10/4 shape with tight cutting spin. CH: 73-74 mph, good fading action to the glove side with good hand speed. |
Daniel Kolditz RHP / 3B / Parkway South, MO / 2021Body: 5-foot-11, 205-pound stocky frame with thick lower half. Delivery: Rocker style delivery with quick pace and tempo. Brings hands up on balance point to head height with smooth rhythm. Works out of the center of the rubber. Strides directly down the middle of the mound with momentum working towards the plate. Gets a slight push off the backside. Clears the head out to make room for the arm swing. Arm Action: RH. Over the top arm slot with a long arm action. FB: 80-81 mph, gets good extension and tall release point with some slight arm side run. SL: 69-70 mph, 9/3 shape with cutting action and developing spin. CH: 68-70 mph, mostly flat shape with some fading action to the arm side. |
Kasey Lasater RHP / OF / Timberland, MO / 2024Body: 6-foot, 190-pound athletic and projectable build. Delivery: Quick tempoed short rocker style delivery with good pace. Sinks into the lower half on full height balance point. Gets a little push off the backside. Works from the middle of the rubber and strides directly down the middle of the mound. Keeps an upright posture throughout the delivery with the upper half. Good balance throughout and rotates hard off the plant leg at release. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with long and smooth arm action. FB: 78-79 mph, Good tilting action with some slight arm side run at times and some slight cut at times. CB: 63-69 mph, very short 12/6 shape with developing spin. CH: 66-70 mph, heavy arm side fade with almost fastball arm speed. |
Carson Maloney RHP / OF / Marquette , MO / 2023Body: 5-foot-10, 150-pound lean and developing frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: Up tempo delivery with methodical rhythm and pace. Works to a low balance point and a tall and fall style delivery. Uses a glove tap rhythm hand break. Turns glove underneath the body and pushes it out for gloveside action. Lands directionally down the center of the mound with good balance and finish. Arm Action: Over the top arm slot with a long arm action. FB: 72-74 mph, mostly straight action with developing command and spin. CB: 59-61 mph, 12/6 shape with good downward action. CH: 70-73 mph, gets some fading action to the gloveside with good hand speed. |
Evan Margherita RHP / 1B / CBC, MO / 2022Body: 6-foot-7, 230-pound large and projectable frame. Delivery: On the mound shows a slow and smooth tempo and repeatable rhythm. Hands set low at the belt and hand break comes low as well. Gets to good balance point with weight leaned slightly back. Gets down into lower half at balance point and gets good leg drive directionally down the center of the mound. Short glove side and gets shoulder tilt. Very projectable on the mound. Arm Action: Over the top arm slot with smooth arm action and recoil release. FB: 83-85 mph, straight action with good tilt at the bottom of the zone. CB: 70-71 mph, 12/6 shape with good downward action and feel for spin. CH: 76-77 mph, split grip change. At times get arm side fade and at times gets good tumbling action down. |
Dominic Marino RHP / 2B / Lindbergh, MO / 2022Body: 6-foot-3, 180-pound athletic and projectable frame. Delivery: Rocker style delivery with smooth tempo and repeatable rhythm. Works to a high balance point and glides leg down the mound. Tall and fall style delivery with a slight push off the back leg. Works out of the middle of the rubber and strides slightly closed towards the third base side. Very simple mechanics and quick to the plate out of the stretch. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with clean arm action and slight recoil release. FB: 83-87 mph, slight arm side run with good riding life at the top of the zone. CB: 61-64 mph, big 12/6 shape with loose spin and good command. CH: 70-74 mph, mostly straight action with good downward bite at times. |
Max Mentel RHP / Westminster Christian, MO / 2023Positional Profile: RHP Body: 6-foot-5, 205-pound long limbed and large frame with room for more added strength. Delivery: On the mound starts pre-turned with easy footwork and smooth rhythm. Repeats the delivery well. Works to high balance point with hands working up and down with the lower half. Kicks leg out on balance point and glides down the mound with the lower half. Lands directionally down the center of the mound with good momentum. Good balance on athletic finish. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with short arm action and hand working across the body at release. FB: 82-85 mph, Heavy sinking action with good arm side run and downside fade. CB: 71-73 mph, short breaking 10/4 shape with developing spin. CH: 77-78 mph, heavy arm side fade with good hand speed. |
Jason Smith RHP / 1B / DeSmet Jesuit, MO / 2023Body: 6-foot-4, 175-pound long/lean and projectable frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: Simple footwork and smooth rhythm. Works a controlled tempo to the mid-low balance point. Tall and fall style motion with an upright posture. Works a circular glove side with good direction and control. Starts on the far first base side of the rubber and lands directionally down the center of the mound. Kicks leg out at balance point and glides the lower half to foot strike. Maintains good body control and finishes in a balanced position. Projectable arm and intriguing prospect to follow. Arm Action: RH. High ¾ arm slot with clean/smooth arm action and slight recoil finish. FB: 81-84 mph, good tilt action at the bottom of the zone and flashes some arm side run and sink at times. CB: 65-67 mph, shapes it both as a slurvy slider action and a more traditional 11/5 shape. Developing feel for spin. CH: 75-76 mph, good fading action with fastball hand speed. Flashes really good depth at times. |
Cannon Stuckey C / RHP / Lafayette, MO / 2023Body: 6-foot, 205-pound stocky and mature frame. Delivery: On the mound shows rocker style motion and quick tempo delivery. Works to high balance point with hands working up and down with the lower half. Tall and fall delivery with slight push off the back side. Pulls glove side across the body at hand break. Ball comes out of the hand very easy on above-average effort delivery. Works from the middle of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound with good momentum and balance. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with clean arm action working across the chest and recoil finish. FB: 83-86 mph, good spin metrics and slight arm side run. CB: 68-72 mph, slurvy 11/5 shape with developing spin and command. CH: 76-78 mph, slight arm side fade and flashes decent depth at times. |
Brady Wilson 3B / RHP / Francis Howell, MO / 2023Body: 6-foot-1, 155-pound lean and athletic frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: Simple footwork with smooth rhythm and upright posture. Works to a high balance point and tall and fall style motion down the mound. Square shoulders and short gloveside and clears it quickly. Rotates hard off of plant foot. Works out of the middle of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound. Maintains upright posture throughout the motion. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with long/clean arm action. FB: 75-77 mph, good tilting action working mainly to the arm side. SL: 70-72 mph, tight 9/3 shape with slight cutting action. CH: 66-68 mph, flashes some downward depth at times with some arm side fade. |
Cameron Wieczorek RHP / 1B / Northwest Cedar Hill, MO / 2023Body: 6-foot-5, 175-pound lean and long-limbed frame with room for added strength and size. Delivery: On the mound uses simple footwork and quick tempo and rhythm. Tall and fall style delivery. Works out of the middle of the rubber and strides directionally down the center of the mound. Rotates off the plant foot with balance finishing towards the first base side. Gets good extension at release point. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with long arm action. FB: 73-74 mph, slight arm side run and works mostly to the glove side. SL: 69-70 mph, tight cutting action with feel for command. CH: 64-66 mph, flashes decent depth with some arm side fade. |
Tyler Whitworth 1B / RHP / Hazelwood West, MO / 2023Body: 6-foot-4, 190-pound lean/athletic projectable frame. Delivery: On the mound uses simple rhythm with stutter-step footwork. Tall and fall style delivery with getting to a high balance point. Repeats the motion well. Starts on the first base side of the rubber and lands directionally down the middle of the mound with good balance and posture. Good body control throughout the delivery. Arm Action: High ¾ arm slot with smooth arm action and clean release. FB: 79-82 mph, shows some arm side run and solid command. CB: 68-69 mph, tight breaking 11/5 shape with a developing feel for spin. CH: 74-75 mph, arm side fade and flashes some depth. Commanded it well. |
