Prep Baseball Report-Kansas held the Underclass Prospect Games on May 31 at Kansas State University. Nearly 100 players participated in the 2018 and 2019 class.
Player profiles have been updated with video, times, velos and profile pictures. Today we will take a look at the outfielders performances from the event. Although some outfielders may have played other positions, this is just a break down of the performances in the outfield. In the days to come we will break down infielders and pitchers.

Kyle Abrahamson, Lawrence Free State, 2018
Abrahamson is a 5-foot-9 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.34 60 and got down the line in 4.68-seconds. He has an 88 mph exit velo, one of the top among LHH. Pryce Anderson, Labette County, 2018
Anderson is a 6-foot 173-pound switch hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.39 60 and a 4.20 home to first, one of the top among LHH. He has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, athletic set up, smooth rhythm, some hand load, middle to pull line drives during batting practice, singled through right side in game action. Brayden Becker, Prairie Hills, 2018
Becker is a 5-foot-8 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.05 60 and a 4.38 home-to-first, one of the top among RHH. He has an exit velo of 82 mph. At the plate, starts in a slightly open stance, pull approach, short stride, body stays under control, balanced finish, went 1-for-3 in game action with a single. Will Boyd, Silver Lake, 2018
Boyd is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.31 60 and a 4.63 home-to-first. He has an 84 mph exit velo. At the plate, swing produced consistent line drives up the middle during batting practice, athletic set up, smooth load into back side, small and controlled leg lift, level path through the hitting zone. Nicholas Chomyak, Shawnee Mission Northwest, 2018
Chomyak is a 5-foot-9 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.44 60 and a 4.89 home-to-first. He has an 86 mph exit velo. At the plate, gap-to-gap approach, open stance, controlled leg kick, level path though hitting zone, body stays under control, singled though the hole at short in game action. Roderick Criss, Staley (MO), 2018
Criss is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 6.80 60, one of the top for the event, and a 4.51 home-to-first. He has an 88 mph exit velo, one of the top RHH velos. At the plate, consistently barreled up balls during batting practice, gap-to-gap approach, open stance, smooth load, short path to contact, level swing path, quick bat speed, singled though the hole at short in game action. Ben Driver, Salina Central, 2019
Driver is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2019 class. Driver ran a 7.14 60 and a 4.44 home to first. He has a 74 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, no wasted movement in load, middle approach, singled to left in game action. In the outfield, high three quarters release, 78 mph positional velo, good route to ball, plays behind the catch, quick catch and release, somewhat accurate throws.
Josh Flack, Shawnee Mission Northwest, 2018
Flack is a 5-foot-11 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.47 60 and got down the line in 4.75-seconds. He has an 70 mph exit velo. At the plate, oppo approach, smooth load, toe tap, fast bat speed, works inside of ball, singled up the middle in game action. In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, one of the top among outfielders, high three quarters arm slot, fluid footwork, clean exchange and throw, momentum through the catch, somewhat accurate throws.
Tyler Halstead, Riley County, 2018
Halstead is a 6-foot 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder from Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 6.46 60, fastest time for the event, and has a 4.15 home-to-first time, one of the best LHH times. He posted an 84 mph exit velo. At the plate, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice, slightly open stance, in line stride, quick hands, level though the zone. In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, over the top release, quick twitch movement, athletic footwork, quick catch and throw, clean exchange, mostly accurete throws.
Tyler Henry, Gardner-Edgerton, 2018
Henry is a 5-foot-9 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.13 60 and has a home-to-first time of 4.34, one of the top among RHH. He has an 89 mph exit velo, one of the top RHH velos. At the plate, tall set-up, short stride, tall stance, smooth rhythm, upper body dominate, loose hands, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice, had a pair of singles in game action. In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, one of the top among outfielders, high three quarters release, arm works, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork.
Korbin Hiebert, Eudora, 2019
Hiebert is a 5-foot-10 141-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 7.70 60 and a 4.53 home-to-first. He posted a 75 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, in line stride, creates momentum with front side, no wasted movement in load, hand work inside of ball, oppo approach, solid consistent contact during batting practice, had a pair of singles in game action. Hungate is a 6-foot-1 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.09 60 and a 4.34 home-to-first. He has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, simple and repeatable swing, athletic set up, toe tap, short stride, level bat path though the zone, middle approach, singled in game action. In the outfield, 86 mph positional velo, one of the top velos on the day from the outfield, loose over the the top release, momentum through the catch, quick catch and throw, athletic actions, throw have carry, mostly accurate.
Connor Jeffers, Burlington, 2018
Jeffers is a physical 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.27 60 and a 4.50 home-to-first. He has an exit velo of 85 mph. At the plate, tall stance, slightly open, in line stride, middle to pull contact, balanced finish, had a pair of triples in game action. In the outfield, 81 mph positional velo, over the top release, fluid footwork, takes good route to ball, clean exchange with quick release, somewhat accurate throws.
Ryan Koval, Olathe South, 2018
Koval is a projectable 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 6.94 60, one of the top for the event, and a 4.88 home-to-first. He has an 88 mph exit velo, one of top RHH velos. At the plate, has feel for the barrel, consistent solid contact gap-to-gap during batting practice, athletic stance, smooth load, short to contact, controlled body, doubled down the left field line in game action. In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, one of the top among outfielders, high three quarters release, catching ball in position to throw, aggressive to ball, plays through the catch, athletic actions.
Corbin Lill, Clearwater, 2018
Lill is a 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 6.85 60, one of the top for the event and a 4.44 home-to-first. He posted an 83 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, some hand load, in line stride, gap-to-gap approach, showed some power to pull gap, had two singles in game action. In the outfield, 86 mph positional velo, one of top outfield velos, high three quarters release, moves to the ball with purpose, loose arm action, clean exchange, momentum through the catch, strong and athletic frame.
Cole Machovsky, Shawnee Mission East, 2018
Machovsky is a 5-foot-11 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.31 60 and a 4.28 home-to-first, one of the top among RHH. He has an 88 mph exit velo, one of the top among RHH. At the plate, gap-to-gap approach, controlled leg lift to in line stride, level path though hitting zone, thin stance, body stays under control. At the plate, balanced set up, short in line stride, level path through the zone, contact to the middle of the field. Brice Pannier, Smith-Cotton (MO), 2018
Pannier is a 6-foot 190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.03 60 and 4.68 home-to-first. He posted a 91 mph exit velo, one of the top LHH velos. At the plate, takes an aggressive swing, pull side line drives, power swing, fast bat speed, loose hands create bat whip, short to contact, level through the zone, tripled to the opposite field in game action. James Perry, Liberty North (MO), 2018
