Fall Underclass Games: A Look at Returning Players

As we draw closer the Fourth Annual Fall Underclass Prospect Games, we will take a look at players attending the event that have attended a PBR event in the past. Today's insider will highlight players past performances.
This will be the first look PBR has had at many of the players in attendance, but several have already shown well at past events. Here is a look.
Mason Auer, SS, Kickapoo (MO), 2019
Mason is a 5-foot-10 145-pound right-handed hitting SS in the 2019 class. He ran a 7.35 60 and has an exit velo of 74 mph. Hard line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice, fast rhythm in pre-swing, loads hands, level path to extension, body stays controlled during swing, ran a 4.53 home-to-first. On the infield, 80 mph positional velo, aggressive to the ball, quick feet, long arm swing, arm works from different angles, loose action, plays through ball, mostly accurate throws. Long-legged frame with projection.
Braxton Bragg, 1B/RHP, Liberty (MO), 2019
Bragg is a 6-foot-1 155-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri's 2019 class. He ran a 7.31 60 and 4.72 home-to-first. At the plate, repeatable swing, thin stance, short stride, quick and level path, consistent line drive to the middle and pull side of the field, flashed power. On the infield, athletic actions, quick footwork with quick exchange, accurate throws, 79 mph positional velo. On the mound, Bragg has a high three quarters arm slot, loose, strong bodied, hands raise with leg lift, throws with regular effort, fast ball at 79-82 mph, late 2-seam action, sharp 11-to-5 breaking ball, slurve-type movement, fastball arm speed, compliments fastball, change up at 70-75 mph, some arm side run, struck out three, walked two and allowed two hits in outing, strike thrower, attacked the zone with mostly fastball and curveball.
Grant Chandler, 2B, Olathe Northwest (KS), 2019
Chandler is a 5-foot-8 115-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 8.25 60 and a 5.12 home-to-first. At the plate, tall and balanced set up, hands separate from stride, hands load, level path to extension, quick hands, gap-to-gap approach, 68 mph exit velo. On the infield, 66 mph positional velo, clean exchange and release, fluid footwork. Projectable frame that has room to add strength with already athletic actions.
Connor Chase, OF, Olathe North (KS), 2019
Chase is a 5-foot-10 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 7.53 60 and a 4.77 home-to-first. He has an exit velo of 74 mph. At the plate, swing produced line drives to the middle of the field, open stance, controlled early stride, hands work through the ball, smooth load, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 62 mph positional velo, works behind the ball, fields ball in athletic position, over the top release, clean exchange.
Zac Cox, SS, Manhattan (KS), 2019
Cox is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class, represented Team Select in the PBR Future Games. He ran a 7.06 60 and got down the line in 4.75-seconds. He has a 91 mph exit velo, one of the top RHH velos. At the plate, slightly open stance, aggressive hands, leg kick to load, line drive to whole field during batting practice, loose hands with quick bat speed, tripled to center in game action. In the outfield, over the top release, aggressive to the ball, quick feet, crow hop, momentum through the catch, clean glove to hand exchange, 84 mph positional velo, one of the top among outfielders, throws have carry, mostly accurate. On the infield, 83 mph positional velo, top infield velo for the event, short over the top arm action, can drop down arm angle, quick feet aggressive to the ball, plays through the catch, athletic actions, accurate throws.
Grant Heizer, RHP, Lee's Summit (MO), 2019
Heizer is a 5-foot-8 135-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Heizer ran a 8.12 60 and got down the line in 5.07-seconds. At the plate, tall stance, early hand separation and stride, middle of the field approach, 71 mph exit velo. In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, 75 mph positional velo, athletic actions, clean glove-to-hand exchange. On the mound, Heizer has a high three-quarters release, in line stride, controlled leg lift and loose arm action. He stays away from the middle of the plate, working both corners, fastball 78 mph max, worked at 74-76 mph, curveball showed 11-to-5 action at 65-64 mph, sharp action.Lean frame with room to add strength.
Garrett Juergens, RHP, Sullivan (MO), 2019
Juergens is a 5-foot-7 137-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.70 60 and a 4.83 home-to-first. He has a 77 mph exit velo. At the plate, than stance with smooth rhythm, in line stride, hands work inside ball, body under control, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 74 mph positional velo, moves well to the ball, loose high three quarters arm action, quick catch and throw, accurate throws. On the mound, Juergens attacked the zone with a three pitch mix, high percentage of strike, loose arm action, controlled delivery, fastball at 75-79 mph, some flashing running action, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, sharp and late action, looks to be a good pitch as he continues to develop, 64-66 mph, controlled change up, fastball arm speed, 69 mph, compliments fastball.
Josef Keilholz, RHP, Fatima (MO), 2019
Keilholz is a 5-foot-8 175-pound left-handed hitting third-baseman and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.69 60 and a 4.75 home-to-first. He has a 78 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, no wasted movement in load, flashed pop to both gaps, swing produced line drives to whole field, feel for the barrel, loose hands, solid consistent contact in batting practice. On the infield, 69 mph positional velo, three quarters arm slot, quick transfer and throw, somewhat accurate throws. On the mound, Keilholz is a 5-foot-8 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Keilholz has an over the top release point, in line stride, aggressive tempo in delivery, fastball 75-79 mph, 12-to-6 shape curveball 64-67 mph, change up flashes arm side release, 67-69 mph, high percentage of strikes with three pitches.
Jacob Kindhart, C, St. James (KS), 2019
Kindhart is a 5-foot-10 155-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Kindhart ran a 8.37 60 and 4.89 home-to-first. At the plate, 71 mph exit velo, Balanced stance, has toe touch and stride, level bat path, uses middle of the field. Behind the plate, over the top release, moves well, soft hands, accurate throws, 66 mph positional velo, creates momentum and direction to throw.
Justin Nace, LHP, Northland Christian (MO), 2019
Nace is a 6-foot-2 220-pound left-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Nace has a high-three quarters slot, drops arm slot creating more run on fastball, loose arm action, aggressive down the mound, throws with some effort, fastball at 77-80 mph, late running action, curveball has 2-to-8 shape, 63-65 mph, some with sharp late break, change up has slight fade at 63 mph.
Greg Norman, LHP, St.Thomas Aquinas (KS), 2019
Norman is a 6-foot-3 175-pound left-handed hitting first-baseman in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 7.35 60 and has a 4.40 home-to-first. His exit velo is 84 mph. At the plate, balanced stance, short path to contact, hands work inside ball, consistent solid contact mostly to middle of the field during batting practice, hands work inside ball, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 70 mph positional velo, short high three quarters release, soft hands, quick catch and throw, accurate throws, quick feet. On the mound, Norman attacks the zone and challeges hitters with mostly fastball, fastball at 76-79 mph, works both sides of the plate, has a high three quarters release, smooth rhythm and throws with regular effort in delivery. Has a projectable pitchers frame, arm action and lean frame would suggest increase velo as he delvelops. Showed a 68 mph breaking ball, with gradual 1-to-7 action and change up at at 74 mph.
Cody Petersen, SS, Hays (KS), 2019
Petersen is a 5-foot-7 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 7.56 60 and a 4.55 home-to-first. He has a 72 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, short stride, swing produced line drives to pull side, repeats. On the infield, 68 mph positional velo, short over the top release, quick transfer with fluid footwork, accurate throws.
Brady Prewitt, C, Raytown South (MO), 2019
Prewitt is a 5-foot-9 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.87 60 and a 5.26 home-to-first. He has an exit velo of 76 mph. At the plate, athletic stance with rhythm in load, gap-to-gap approach, solid consistent contact with quick bat speed, stays on ball after contact. Behind the plate, high three quarters release, pop times between 2.06 and 2.18, somewhat accurate throws, clean catch and throw, 71 mph positional velo.
Mickey Simpson, C, Grain Valley (MO), 2019
Simpson is a 5-foot-5 115-pound switch-hitting third baseman and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Simpson ran a 8.82 60 and 5.35 home-to-first from the right side and a 5.08 from the left side. Simple and repeatable mechanics from both sides, early stride, balanced finish, level path, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 68 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, arm works, fluid footwork creating momentum through catch. Will mature physically and will help already athletic actions. On the mound, Threw mostly fastballs at 64-67 mph, change up at 61 mph, holds hand high throughout delivery, controlled body, throws with regular effort, clean arm action, stays in line down the mound, works ball around zone, throws strikes.
Brady Slavens, SS, Olahte North (KS), 2019
Slavens is a 6-foot-1 156-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 7.37 60 and a 4.56 home-to-first. 85 mph exit velo, one of the top LHH velos of the event. At the plate, aggressive swing, balanced stance, smooth rocking load, flashed power to pull side, swing produced mostly pull side line drives, level path, quick bat speed. On the infield, moves aggressively to the ball, plays through the catch, 81 mph positional velo, high three quarters arm action, loose arm action, mostly accurate throws.
Payton Smith, C, Washburn Rural (KS), 2019
Smith is a 6-foot 195-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas 2019 class. Smith ran a 4.53 home to first and posted one of the top RHH exit velos of the event at 91 mph. At the plate, has open stance with leg kick, level path, strong and fast hands, aggressive swing, middle to pull approach, power to pull side. Behind the plate, recorded one of the top pop times of the day at 2.01-seconds, consistently between 2.01 and 2.18, 76 mph positional velo, over the top release, gets back side finished to throw, quick catch and release, quick feet, somewhat accurate throws. On the mound, Had one of the top RHP fastball velos on the day at 80 mph, worked fastball at 76-80, over the top release, aggressive down the mound, throws with some effort, classic hands over the head during wind up, in line stride, athletic finish, loose arm action, breaking ball at 57-60, 12-to-6 action, change-up at 64-71 mph, some late sink, down in zone.
Wyatt Towe, SS, Rock Bridge (MO), 2019
Towe is a 5-foot-10 150-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.38 60 and a 4.62 home-to-first. He has a 74 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stance with no wasted movement, swing produced line drives to the middle and pull side of the field, repeats swing, loose hands. On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, athletic actions, short over the top release, athletic fielding position, feet create momentum through the catch, accurate throws.
Tanner Twillman, SS, Olathe East (KS), 2019
Twillman is a 5-foot-5 115-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class. He ran a 7.68 60 and a 4.76 home-to-first. He has an exit velo of 69 mph. At the plate, gap-to-gap approach, open stance, controlled leg lift, hands work inside ball. On the infield, high three-quarters arm slot, loose arm action, hands and feet in sync, gains momentum after catch, mostly accurate throws, 68 mph positional velo.
Tanner Yeisley, OF, Lee's Summit North (MO), 2019
Yeisley is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019. class. Yeisley ran a 7.03, one of the top for the event, and had a 4.40 home-to-first. At the plate, swing produced line drives to pull side, minimal load, level to extension, 65 mph exit velo. In the outfield, 65 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, takes route behind ball, plays through catch, fluid exchange.
