Class of 2013 Spotlight: RHP/SS Danny Mannion from Marquette HS

A veteran of Prep Baseball Report events, and a participant in the Midwest Futures Game last summer, junior MIF/RHP Danny Mannion (right) is excelling both on the field and in the classroom.
So far this season, the left handed hitting Mannion is leading the Marquette Mustangs in all offensvie categories: hitting .508 with seven doubles, two triples, two homeruns and thirteen RBIs. On the mound, Mannion is a perfect 4-0 with a 2.20 ERA in thirty one and two thirds innings pitched.
At the Prep Baseball Report Midwest Futures Games, Mannion ran a 7.15 60 and showed good instincts at shortstop, as well as an accurate 77-78 mph arm across the infield. On the mound, Mannion was extremely efficient as consistently threw strikes and worked ahead in counts. His fastball sat 80-83 mph, topping out at 84mph.

In the classroom, Mannion is a 4.0 Honors student. In his latest taking of the ACT, Mannion got a score of 33, and palnning on taking the test again to beat that score.
