Building Champions Scout Day: 2021-2022 Infielder Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Kansas/Missouri held the Building Champions Scout Day on February 22 at The Yard XL in Olathe, KS. Over sixty-five players participated in the 2022 to 2018 classes.

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Here is a closer look at the 2021-2022 Infielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

2021-2022 Infielders

Blake Anderson SS / 2B / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2021

Anderson is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas' 2021 class. He ran a 7.00 60, a 4.63 home to first and had an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, loads with hands and weight shift against back side, controlled leg lift with in line stride, fast bat speed, showed feel for the barrel with consistent solid contact gap to gap. On the infield, aggressive to the ball with footwork, soft hands, fields ball out front, high three quarters arm slot, accurate throws, 76 mph positional velocity.

Corbin Bassham 3B / RHP / Olathe South, KS / 2022

Bassham is a lean 6-foot 165-pound left-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas' 2022 class. He ran a 7.75 60 and a 5.10 home to first. He has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up with some pre swing rhythm in lower half, short in line stride, level bat path through the zone, middle of the field approach. On the infield, three quarters arm slot, two shuffles and release after catch, clean exchange with fluid footwork, 73 mph positional velocity.

Ryan Borberg SS / RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2022

Borberg is a well built 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas' 2022 class. He ran a 7.62 60 and a 4.74 home to first. He has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, controlled swing, balanced set up, minimal load, slight lift to bat path, middle to pull side line drives, stays balanced. Dawson Goe 2B / SS / Liberty, MO / 2021

Goe is a 5-foot-9 145-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri's 2021 class. He ran a 7.85 60 and a 4.96 home to first. He has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, similar swing from both side, more load on left side, balanced set up, controlled leg lift, aggressive swing with loose hands and bat whip, level though the zone, controls bat from both sides, middle of the field line drives. Michael Infranca LHP / 1B / Blue Springs , MO / 2021

Infranca is a 5-foot-9 165-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri's 2021 class. He ran a 7.99 60 and a 5.07 home to first. He has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, hands manipulate the bat, loose wrists in swing, level path, stays under control, works inside the ball.
