On August 17 at the University of Central Missouri, Prep Baseball Report-Missouri held the Class of 2015 Prospect Games. The event featured 60 of the top uncommitted players in the state, with 8 of the top catchers. The catchers group was a talented bunch, but Josh Scribner stood out with three hits during game action. He also posted the top pop time.

Top Catching Prospect
Josh Scribner (Raymore Peculiar, C, 2015)
8/17/14 – Scribner is a strong, athletic 6-foot-0 195-pound right hand hitting catcher. He ran a home-to-first time of 4.65. Josh throws from an over-the-top arm slot and has short arm action. His throws were accurate and had great life. His position velo was 78 MPH from catcher. Scribner had a POP range of 1.90-1.97. At the plate, Scribner has a balanced setup with a smooth load and short stride. He maintains a level bat path with good hip rotation. Josh produces gap-to-gap line drives and with pull power. He had an exit velo of 89 MPH. In the game, Scribner put on an impressive display. He racked up 2 doubles and a triple and smoked the ball to all fields.

Cole Bornhop (Lutheran South, C, 2015)
Bornhop is an athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound switch hitting catcher/utility player. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.30 from the left side and 4.51 from the right side. Cole throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has short arm action. His throws were accurate and had great life. His position velo was 74 MPH from catcher. Bornhop had a POP range of 1.96-2.06. At the plate, Bornhop has an athletic, balanced setup with a smooth load and long stride. He explodes with his lower half and keeps a level bat path. Cole produces gap-to-gap line drives and has power from both sides. He had an exit velo of 85 MPH from the left side and 88 MPH from the right side. During the game, he reached base on an infield single and threw out a runner.
Joshua Brayton Cooper (Lee’s Summit West, C, 2015)
Cooper is an athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound right-hand hitting catcher. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.41. Josh throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm action. He had a POP range of 2.13 – 2.32. His position velo was 72 MPH. At the plate, Cooper has a balanced setup with a smooth load and long stride. He has good balance through his sing and maintains a level bat path. Josh uses the middle of the field. Cooper had an exit velo of 87 MPH.
Seth Gerardy (Battle, C, 2015)
Gerardy is a strong, athletic 6-foot-2, 205-pound right-hand hitting catcher. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.53. He throws from an over-the-top arm slot. Seth’s throws were mostly accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 74 MPH. Gerardy had a POP range of 2.15-2.30. At the plate, he has an athletic setup with a smooth load and a long stride. His swing stays level while getting good extension. Seth produces gap-to-gap line drives and stays inside the ball. He had an exit velo of 93 MPH.
Jordan Hennon (Lee’s Summit West, C, 2015)
Hennon is a strong 6-foot-0, 180-pound left-hand hitting catcher. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.89. He throws from an over-the-top arm slot. Jordan’s throws were mostly accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 74 MPH. Jordan had a POP range of 2.01 – 2.06. At the plate, Hennon has an athletic setup with a back drop and a long stride. He shows good balance through his swing and maintains a level path to the ball. Jordan produces gap-to-gap line drives with his swing. He had an exit velo of 80 MPH.
Mason Kelchner (Sacred Heart, C, 2015)
Kelchner is an athletic 6-foot-0, 180-pound right-hand hitting catcher/first baseman. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.39. He throws from an over-the-top arm slot with quick arm action. Mason’s throws were mostly accurate and had good carry. His POP range was from 2.06-2.29. His position velo was 70 MPH at catcher. At the plate, Kelchner has a crouched setup with a back load. He keeps a level bat path and uses the middle of the field. Mason's swing produces line drives. He had an exit velo of 77 MPH.
Blake Moore (Liberty North, C, 2015)
Moore is a strong 5-foot-10, 180-pound right-hand hitting catcher. He posted a home-to-first time of 4.65. Blake throws from an over-the-top arm slot. His throws were very accurate and had good carry. His position velo was 77 MPH. Blake had a POP range of 1.99-2.19. At the plate, Moore has a crouched setup with a back load. He uses his lower half well and has fluid rhythm through the swing. Blake uses the middle of the field and hits line drives. He had an exit velo of 82 MPH.
Mtchell Morris (Fox, C, 2015)
Morris is an athletic 5-foot-11, 175-pound switch hitting catcher. He ran a home-to-first time of 4.53. Mitchell throws from an over-the-top arm slot and has short arm action. His throws were accurate and had great life. His position velo was 82 MPH from catcher. Morris had a POP range of 1.95-2.10. At the plate, Morris has a balanced setup with a smooth load. He keeps his hands inside the ball and maintains a level bat path. Mitchell produces gap-to-gap line drives and has pop from both sides. He had an exit velo of 77 MPH. He tripled to left center in game action.
