PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
Scheffler: Minnesota, North Dakota State, Ball State, South Dakota State, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Augustana
PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
Scheffler: I have taken a visit to Augustana and a visit at South Dakota State on April 7th/8th.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Scheffler: I’m looking to attend a good academic school to go along with a success baseball program.
PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
Scheffler: Some highlights include winning state my 8th grade year and always having a successful program at Springfield.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
Scheffler: A big goal for me is to get back to the state tournament in baseball again.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Scheffler: Football and Basketball
PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
Scheffler: 3.8 GPA and I have not taken the ACT yet.
Scouting Report
3/17/18- 6-foot-2, 180-pound left-handed hitting third baseman. 7.02 runner. Square stance, body load, rolls barrel through zone, shows pop in bat to middle of field, clean swing plane with hard line drive contact, 85 mph exit velocity. Works through ball, sure hands, fields deep into body occasionally, covers ground and shows solid athleticism, hitchy arm action, accurate to bag, 75 mph arm across infield.
7/5/17- 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting second baseman. 7.08 runner. Square stance, crouches into load, line drive swing plane, flashes bat speed, shows pop in bat to pull side of field, 88 mph exit velocity. Solid footwork, avg. glove, works through ball, long exchange and release on throws, accurate to bag, 79 mph arm strength across infield.
3/4/17- 6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed hitting second baseman. 4.2 home-to-first time. Pre-set hands, short stride, repeats swing, flat swing plane, solid present strength, flashes occasional pop in bat, works middle of field with line drive contact, 81 mph exit velocity. Shows decent hands, tends to play flat-footed, appropriate footwork to baseball, 68 mph arm strength across infield.
10/24/16- 6-foot, 165-pound left-handed hitting second baseman. 7.27 runner. Crouches into hitting position, rigid movements, flat swing plane, rotational lower half, pull approach, ground ball contact, 77 mph exit velocity. Sits back to field, decent glove, needs improved footwork and direction playing through ball, avg. accuracy to bag, 71 mph arm strength across field.
