Evaluation: 8/20/16- 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher. #48 ranked player in MN 2017 class. Strong mature build. 7.6 runner. Open stance with leg kick trigger, good weight transfer through contact, shows hard line drive contact to middle of field, has extension through contact with above avg. pop in bat, 82 mph exit velocity. Above avg. quickness with exchange and release, out front losing lower half power on throws, 73 mph arm strength with 2.09-2.28 pop times. Showed ability to block, quiet receiver with strength, has mobility, and comfortable easy actions behind the plate.

ONOMIYA: Bradley, Bucknell, Butler, Columbia, Creighton, Dartmouth, Holy Cross, Illinois State, Pennsylvania, South Dakota State, S. Illinois-Edwardsville, Minnesota.
PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
ONOMIYA: Butler, Xavier, Creighton, Dartmouth and S. Illinois-Edwardsville.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
ONOMIYA: High academics, good fit, and a great baseball program where I can contribute to the success of the team.
PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
ONOMIYA: Received dual award recognition from my traveling club team, MN Blizzard Elite Varsity, voted on by players; "Top Hitter Award" and the "Leadership Award". My most improved year for hitting and catching as well as body transformation. Played for the MN Prospects winter team coached by Pat Casey. Named 4 out of 5 tournaments to PG All Tournament Teams. Club Team Stats: .346 Avg, .500 OBP, .667 SLG, 17H, 3HR (1 Grand Slam), 12R, 24RBI.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
ONOMIYA: Receive D1 offer, increase ACT score, performance train, hit the batting cages and continue to improve!
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
ONOMIYA: No.
PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
ONOMIYA: I have a 3.8 GPA and a 28 ACT.
