Evaluation:  6/20/16- 6-foot-3, 155-pound right-handed pitcher. Thin athletic frame. Long clean arm action with good extension and finish. Easy actions on mound and throws with minimal effort. Fastball was 81-84 mph with solid life at plate. Solid depth on breaking ball with 11/5 shape; thrown for strikes. Heavy action on changeup with developing feel for zone. Could be a sleeper in the 2017 class.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
FURST: MSU-Mankato, Winona State, Augustana University, St. Cloud State, Southwestern MN State University, UW-LaCrosse, St. Scholastica, St. John's University, University of St. Thomas, Augsburg College, U of MN-Morris, St. Mary's University, Dordt College-Iowa, Luther College-Iowa, Southwestern CC-Iowa, Central College-Iowa.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
FURST: Both. We have done some visits and have several scheduled between now and MEA Weekend.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
FURST: I do have some criteria I am looking for.  Location and their baseball program are important along with the academic programs they offer. I am currently interested in Architecture, Sports and Excercise Science, Mass Communication/Journalism, and possibly Construction Management.

PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
FURST: I was the pitching anchor and pitched over 53 innings with a 1.96 ERA.  I was named to the 2016 2AAA All Section Team, Big 9 All Conference Honorable Mention Team, inducted into the National Honor Society, earned Spotlight on Education awards for my both Winter and Spring, and Lettered in Baseball as well as Basketball.

PBR: What are your goals for this year? 
FURST: My goals for this year are to earn all A's in school, pitch more than 53 innings with a 1.96 ERA or better, join a new club, play varsity again and just have fun my Senior Year.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
FURST: Yes I do.  I play Basketball as my Winter sport.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
FURST: My current ACT score is 22 but I will be retaking the ACT on September 10th.  My GPA is 3.897 and I am in the top 25% of my class at Mankato West High School.
