PBR: Why did you choose the school you did?
HESSE: I chose NDSU because the coaching staff is great, the academics are a good fit for me, and I believe I will be comfortable at NDSU for the next four years.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
HESSE: Other schools I was considering were Augustana, St. Scholastica, and Luther.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
HESSE: Coach Brown first saw me at the PBR MN Top Prospect Games. We stayed in contact and I attended one of the NDSU Prospect camps this past summer.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
HESSE: I am very relieved that the process is over. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to go through the recruiting process but it is stressful. I'm happy that I can now focus on enjoying my senior year, looking forward to my last season of high school baseball, and working hard to continue to get better.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
HESSE: There was not one deciding factor. I had a positive experience at their Prospect Camp, I had good interactions with the coaching staff, my official visit this fall was a very positive experience. NDSU is the size of school I was hoping to play for, the location is good for my family to be able to see me play, and the academic choices are exciting for me. NDSU has what I want in a school and baseball program so I knew it was the right fit.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
HESSE: My mom and dad have helped me the most. They have made countless sacrifices to support me in my baseball career.  I am very thankful.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
HESSE: I knew that the recruiting process was going to be stressful, but I am very happy with my experience.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season? HESSE: Coming into my freshman season at NDSU I have the opportunity to compete and earn a starting spot in the infield.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
HESSE: I have had a lot of memorable moments on the field. I just love to be able to play the game I love with my teammates.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
HESSE: No one player I have competed against has been the best. There are too many great players out there to count.
